Abstract:
An improved method of determining that a current transformer is situated about a conductor includes applying a predefined load to a particular conductor from among a plurality of conductors and making a determination from a signal detected from a particular current transformer responsive to the predefined load that the particular current transformer is situated about the particular conductor. An improved metering device having an algorithm for identifying the predefined load is also disclosed.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for assessing equipment related risk based on electrical event data. An electrical event is an electrical voltage or current that falls outside a nominal range during an event duration. The electrical event data for electricity supplied to electrically-powered equipment is analyzed and one or more types of equipment related risk associated with an electrical event are quantified based on the electrical event data. A visual representation of the quantified one or more equipment related risks is provided.

Abstract:
A metering unit, located in a distributed power network carrying a power-related waveform, comprises a sensor, a generator, and a memory. The sensor senses power-related parameters associated with the power-related waveform. In response to the sensor, the generator generates and transmits data representative of the power-related waveform. The memory is a sector-erasable flash EEPROM having stored therein programmable logic and main functionality firmware for execution by the generator. The logic is programmable by a user and executable by the generator to increase operations performed by the metering unit.
