Access Control System

US Patent:
6394356, May 28, 2002
Filed:
Jun 4, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/872395
Inventors:
Anthony Zagami - Jupiter FL
Assignee:
Security Identification Systems Corp. - West Palm Beach FL
International Classification:
G06K 1900
US Classification:
235487, 235382
Abstract:
An access control system for monitoring human ingress and egress comprises an input means for creating a unique identifier for to be stored in a database. The unique identifier includes a digital image of the person, a digital image of the unique identifier, and alphanumeric identification data. A processing means coupled to said input means is operable to perform the steps of storing the unique identifier as a computer-readable file in the database, recording the arrival date and time of a person; creating a tracking record associated with the unique identifier. The unique identifier can be displayed on a monitor coupled to the processing means. A printer coupled to the processing means generates an access pass on portable media which includes a viewable image of the person and the identification document, and alphanumeric identification data for the person. The access pass can also include machine readable media which comprises a coded representation of the unique identifier. The system of the invention can include a sensing mechanism operable to interpret the machine-readable media.

System For Verification And Association Of Documents And Digital Images

US Patent:
6801907, Oct 5, 2004
Filed:
Apr 10, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/545941
Inventors:
Anthony Zagami - Jupiter FL
Assignee:
Security Identification Systems Corporation - Palm Beach Gardens FL
International Classification:
G06F 700
US Classification:
707 3, 707 2, 707 9, 713186, 340 52
Abstract:
This invention provides a process and apparatus, using a computer system, peripheral equipment and uniquely designed software, for electronically capturing the image(s) of one or more persons and/or objects, associating such image(s) with a database record and printing or otherwise transferring to a document (including, but not limited to, tickets, cards, tags and passes) a unique coding or symbology. When later required, the person(s) and/or object(s) associated with the document can be verified by visually comparing such person(s) or object(s) with the displayed image(s) recalled from the computer memory by using the symbology on the document to locate the database record and image file, or reconstructed from the symbology or coding on the document itself by using various decoding algorithms.

Information-Based Access Control System For Sea Port Terminals

US Patent:
7494060, Feb 24, 2009
Filed:
Dec 10, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/732168
Inventors:
Anthony Zagami - Jupiter FL, US
International Classification:
G06K 5/00
US Classification:
235382, 235380
Abstract:
An information based access control system for sea port terminals having security checkpoints. A database is associated with the processor, either locally on site, or at a central location where it is accessible from a plurality of sea ports. The checkpoints can include a smart card reader, biometric device, optical scanner, and a magnetic stripe reader. A registration module in communication with the central processor is used to issue credentials for a person requiring access and also to store identifier data for the person in the database. The registration nodule includes a camera for capturing a digital image of the person, a means for inputting alphanumeric data, a means to retrieve coded electronic data from identification documents, and a means for obtaining a biometric reference from the person. The information forms unique identifier data for the person which is stored in the database.

Maritime Overboard Detection And Tracking System

US Patent:
2012022, Sep 13, 2012
Filed:
Mar 6, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/412826
Inventors:
ANTHONY ZAGAMI - JUPITER FL, US
JOSEPH CARVALKO - NORTH PALM BEACH FL, US
Assignee:
Security Identification Systems Corporation a Florida - West Palm Beach FL
International Classification:
G08B 23/00
G08B 1/00
G01D 21/00
H04N 7/18
US Classification:
3405736, 348148, 116211, 116209, 348E07085
Abstract:
A process and system for detecting the presence of a person overboard including: setting the perimeter of an area to scan, scanning said area 180 degrees in azimuth utilizing a laser beam for receiving a reflection of said laser beam off said person, detecting said reflection and playing back a video recording of said trajectory of the person, wherein the area above and below the perimeter of an area to scan is continuously video recorded and wherein upon detecting the target, one or more of audio and visual alarms alert that crew, and wherein an alarm with location is sent to PDA system with GPS coordinates time and date. Additionally a launched deploys a device to track the person overboard, and allows persons on the ship or in a control center to ascertain the location of the person overboard.
