Abstract:
A method for inspecting blade tip clearance between at least one rotor blade and a case spaced radially outward from the rotor blade is provided. The method includes inserting a probe into an aperture defined in the case and emitting electromagnetic energy into the case using the probe. The method also includes detecting electromagnetic energy reflected from a blade tip portion of the rotor blade and determining a blade tip clearance defined between the blade tip and the case based on the detected electromagnetic energy.

Abstract:
A measurement system for measuring a dimension of an object includes a rotary encoder and a rotatable wheel connected to the rotary encoder. A first transfer roller is separated from the rotary encoder by a first predetermined distance. A connector having an inner surface opposed to an outer surface engages with the rotatable wheel so that the connector moves in sync with the rotatable wheel. The connector engages between the first transfer roller and the object so that the connector moves in sync with the object.

Systems and methods for statistical process control are provided. A computer implemented statistical process control method includes converting a plurality of data points to a plurality of Cartesian coordinate sets, determining a centroid for the plurality of Cartesian coordinate sets, calculating a distance from each of the plurality of Cartesian coordinate sets to the centroid, and establishing an ellipsoidal control zone based on the plurality of distances.
