Carpet Spotting Machine With Thermostatic Protection Against Overflow

US Patent:
5784753, Jul 28, 1998
Filed:
Dec 26, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/778041
Inventors:
Kenneth A. Kaczmarz - Hoffman Estates IL
Jesse V. Mondigo - Aurora IL
Gary Edward Palmer - Roselle IL
Assignee:
Minuteman International, Inc. - Addison IL
International Classification:
A47L 928
US Classification:
15319
Abstract:
A portable carpet cleaning machine has a tank for storing a cleaning solution and a hand-actuatable spray nozzle for applying the solution under pressure. A vacuum motor drives a fan which produces a vacuum in a recovery tank for storing spent solution. Air flows through the recovery tank and the vacuum fan to exhaust. A fast-acting, heat-sensitive thermostatic switch is connected in electrical circuit and in heat transfer relation with the vacuum motor winding to interrupt the flow of current in the motor winding immediately upon sensing a temperature rise in the winding above a predetermined temperature and in a very short time after overflow water is passed from the recovery tank to the vacuum fan.

Control System For Floor Care Machine

US Patent:
6163915, Dec 26, 2000
Filed:
Aug 21, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/138822
Inventors:
Kenneth A. Kaczmarz - Hoffman Estates IL
Brock E. Robinson - Naperville IL
John B. Payson - Bolingbrook IL
James V. Allen - Lombard IL
Assignee:
Minuteman International, Inc. - Addison IL
International Classification:
A47L 1114
A47L 1128
US Classification:
15 491
Abstract:
A floor care machine such as a burnisher may operate in a manual or automatic mode for controlling the operating pressure of the working unit, such as a brush or pad. The illustrated machine has a motor and pad driver assembly mounted for height adjustment by an actuator. In the automatic mode, a transducer senses motor current (i. e. , load) and generates a signal representative of the actual operating pressure exerted by the pad on the floor. A microprocessor-based controller controls the actuator to adjust the height of the pad relative to the floor, and thus adjusts the pad pressure on the floor, according to a setting selected by the operator. The controller is programmed to reduce the effect of "hunting" by entering a Lock Mode after operation has achieved predetermined conditions. System operation remains in the Lock Mode as long as other criteria are met, and operation returns to a Hunt Mode if these other criteria are not met. The operator may enter data into the controller to adjust the sensitivity of the system in the Hunt Mode and the Lock Mode for different applications or floor conditions.

System And Method For Combined Electronic Inventory Data And Access Control

US Patent:
2019005, Feb 21, 2019
Filed:
Aug 21, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/106619
Inventors:
- Greenville SC, US
Kenneth A. Kaczmarz - LaGrange Park IL, US
Jesse Mavromatis - Inverness IL, US
Mike Jensen - Salem WI, US
Arkady Grenader - Palatine IL, US
International Classification:
G07C 9/00
G06K 19/07
G06Q 10/08
H04L 29/08
G06K 17/00
Abstract:
Disclosed are apparatuses and corresponding and associated methodologies for achieving current inventory data management in combination with an electronic access control system. An access control system provides access control data while the sealed enclosure incorporates an RFID reading system for determining the identity of respective tagged contents within the enclosure. Particularly in conjunction with the storage of controlled substances, such as some drugs utilized on an EMS vehicle, a form of RFID tag may be practiced which operationally is fully or partially destroyed or damaged, or otherwise impacted or affected so as to generate a changed ID, whenever the contained medicinal dosage is acquired for administration. By reading contents of the enclosure (narc box) prior to a work shift, and at the conclusion of the work shift, comprising tracking comparative methodology, usage of the tagged drugs may be tracked. By forming such reports throughout the course of a shift, as each point of consumption takes place, a complete record of custody of control may be maintained.
