Filed:
Jul 29, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/846680
Inventors:
Andrzej J. Chanduszko - Chandler AZ, US
Michael Adam Randall - Maricopa AZ, US
Assignee:
C. R. Bard, Inc. - Murray Hill NJ
International Classification:
A61M 29/00
US Classification:
606200, 623 115
Abstract:
A filter to be placed in a flow of blood through a vessel. The filter includes a hub disposed along a longitudinal axis and a plurality of anchor members extending from the hub. Each anchor member includes either a cranial extension or a caudal extension at a distal end thereof. At least one anchor member distal end is spaced from the hub at each of a first, second, and third distance along the longitudinal axis. The filter also includes a plurality of locator members extending from the hub, the locator members alternatingly interposed between the anchor members.

Stent Delivery System

US Patent:
2005027, Dec 8, 2005
Filed:
Jun 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/144513
Inventors:
John Fulkerson - Rancho Santa Margarita CA, US
Michael Randall - Mission Viejo CA, US
Teodoro Jimenez - Irvine CA, US
International Classification:
A61F002/06
US Classification:
623001110
Abstract:
A stent delivery system includes an inner tubular member on which a stent is loaded, an outer jacket extending over said inner tubular member, the retraction of which causes deployment of the stent, and a handle adapted to move the jacket relative to the inner tubular member. The constructions of the inner tubular member and outer jacket and the handle provide increased control of the relative movement of the outer jacket relative to the inner tubular member, and prevention of premature release of the stent from the deployment instrument, and greater control over stent deployment among other advantages.

Endovascular Apparatus With Enhanced Retrievability And Related Methods

US Patent:
2022040, Dec 22, 2022
Filed:
Mar 2, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/684747
Inventors:
- Tempe AZ, US
Michael Randall - Gilbert AZ, US
William Parmentier - Gilbert AZ, US
International Classification:
A61F 2/90
A61F 2/95
A61F 2/86
A61F 2/82
Abstract:
An endovascular apparatus takes the form of an expandable tubular body having a retriever, which may include a pair of interconnected hooks. The retriever may be formed from a single piece of material forming the tubular body, and in the case of a pair of hooks thus has a thickness corresponding to approximately twice the wall thickness of the tubular body. The innermost radial portion of the hooks may be offset from a central axis of a lumen formed by the tubular body, which facilitates free insertion of a balloon or the like for purposes of expanding the tubular body. Related methods of manufacturing an endovascular apparatus with a retriever are also described herein.

Systems, Methods, And Catheters For Endovascular Treatment Of A Blood Vessel

US Patent:

May 31, 2019
Appl. No.:
17/610851
Inventors:
- Franklin Lakes NJ, US
Alexander W. Tessmer - Phoenix AZ, US
Jeremy B. Cox - Salt Lake City UT, US
Andrzej J. Chanduszko - Chandler AZ, US
Michael Randall - Gilbert AZ, US
Thomas Diffley Pate - Austin TX, US
Assignee:
TVA Medical, Inc. - Franklin Lakes NJ
International Classification:
A61B 34/20
A61B 8/12
A61B 8/00
A61B 8/08
A61B 17/32
A61B 17/22
Abstract:
In one aspect, a system for endovascular treatment of a blood vessel includes a control unit, an ultrasound device, an actuator, and a catheter having a treatment portion. The ultrasound device is communicatively coupled to the control unit. The ultrasound device includes an ultrasound probe having a subject contact surface. The actuator is coupled to the ultrasound probe and is operable to move the subject contact surface of the ultrasound prove relative to a treatment zone of a subject. The control unit is configured to determine a position of the treatment portion of the catheter as the catheter is advanced through the blood vessel, and move the subject contact surface of the ultrasound probe relative to the treatment zone of the subject with the actuator to follow the position of the catheter as the catheter is advanced through the blood vessel.

Low-Profile Single And Dual Vascular Access Device

US Patent:
2023003, Feb 2, 2023
Filed:
Oct 11, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/963813
Inventors:
- Franklin Lakes NJ, US
Jason R. Stats - Layton UT, US
Michael A. Randall - Gilbert AZ, US
Chad C. Van Liere - Phoenix AZ, US
Jeremy B. Cox - Salt Lake City UT, US
International Classification:
A61M 39/02
A61M 25/00
A61M 25/01
A61M 1/36
Abstract:
A low-profile access port for subcutaneous implantation within a patient. The access port can include a set of receiving cups which can be placed in fluid communication with a catheter. The set of receiving cups can provide a greater skin surface with which to access the port to avoid repeated penetrations at a single locus, such as during consecutive dialysis treatments. The access port can alternatively include needle penetrable arms or elongate chambers that also have a slim, low profile. The access port can include a needle guide to direct subsequent needle access to different insertion points to permit healing at the previous insertion points. The access port can be formed of a modular construction with a first conduit, a second conduit, and an outer shell. The outer shell can include a proximal portion and a distal portion. The access port can include a stem assembly and a locking member.

Catheter With Guided, Translatable Cutter For Active Slicing/Scoring And Related Methods

US Patent:
2021031, Oct 14, 2021
Filed:
Jun 18, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/351464
Inventors:
- Tempe AZ, US
Michael Randall - Gilbert AZ, US
Chad Van Liere - Phoenix AZ, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/3207
A61M 25/10
Abstract:
A catheter for scoring or slicing a lesion. The catheter has a first receiver at a distal end of an expandable portion of the catheter shaft. A first carrier at least partially within the first receiver is moveable axially along the catheter shaft to deploy a first cutter along the expandable portion for cutting or scoring the lesion. In an alternative embodiment, the first carrier may be a wire having a loop, and thus forming a first length including the first cutter and a second length including a second cutter. Actuation of the wire thus causes simultaneous, reciprocal movement of the first and second cutters. Related methods are also disclosed.

Ultrasound Imaging System Having Automatic Image Presentation

US Patent:
2021010, Apr 15, 2021
Filed:
Dec 22, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/131073
Inventors:
- Franklin Lakes NJ, US
Michael A. Randall - Gilbert AZ, US
Peng Zheng - Chandler AZ, US
Dean M. Addison - Victoria, CA
Bryan A. Matthews - Saanichton, CA
International Classification:
A61B 8/00
A61B 8/08
Abstract:
An ultrasound imaging system includes an interventional medical device having a first tracking element that generates tip location data based on an EM locator field. An ultrasound probe has an ultrasound transducer mechanism and a second tracking element. The ultrasound transducer mechanism has an active ultrasound transducer array that generates two-dimensional ultrasound slice data at any of a plurality of discrete imaging locations within a three-dimensional imaging volume. The second tracking element generates probe location data based on the EM locator field. A processor circuit is configured to execute program instructions to generate an ultrasound image for display, and is configured to generate a positioning signal based on the tip location data and the probe location data to dynamically position the active ultrasound transducer array so that the two-dimensional ultrasound slice data includes the distal tip of the interventional medical device.
