Led Beacon Lamp

US Patent:
2002012, Sep 5, 2002
Filed:
Feb 16, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/784160
Inventors:
Mohamed Abdelhafez - Old Bridge NJ, US
Robert Martin - Little Silver NJ, US
Robert Johnson - Howell NJ, US
John Adinolfi - Milltown NJ, US
Chenhua You - Manasquan NJ, US
International Classification:
F21V029/00
F21V005/04
US Classification:
362/294000, 362/373000, 362/335000
Abstract:
A beacon lamp which may find use in and around airports, communication towers, etc. The beacon lamp includes a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) its as light source. The plurality of LEDs can be mounted on an LED module which is in turn secured to a base. A transparent outer cover is provided to cover the plurality of LEDs. The LED module can include heat fins to enhance heat sinking properties. The outer cover and base can also include portions to improve free air convection to also improve heat sinking properties. The LEDs may be connected in parallel to provide redundancy in the event that certain LEDs burn out. The beacon lamp is also structured to allow the outer cover to be easily removed from the base to access the LED modules, to allow easy relamping of the beacon lamp.

Vehicle Light With Light Emitting Diode (Led) Light Source

US Patent:
2004024, Dec 9, 2004
Filed:
Jun 6, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/455393
Inventors:
Chenhua You - Manasquan NJ, US
Mohamed Abdelhafez - Old Bridge NJ, US
Assignee:
DIALIGHT CORPORATION - FARMINGDALE NJ
International Classification:
B60Q001/26
US Classification:
362/541000, 362/544000, 362/240000
Abstract:
An LED light, such as used as a vehicle backup light, includes an LED board having first and second sides. At least one LED is mounted on the first side. A lens is positioned at a distance from the LED board to face the first side of the LED board. A potting compound is provided on the second side of the LED board. The potting compound can completely fill the second side of the LED board. The lens can include a first surface facing an external side of the LED light that is substantially smooth, to prevent collecting dust therein, and a second surface facing the LED board. That second surface can be contoured to include an upper region to refract light in a first direction, a lower region to reflect light in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a middle region including horizontal grooves. That middle region may diverge light in a horizontal direction and converge light in a vertical direction.

High Flux Light Emitting Diode (Led) Reflector Arrays

US Patent:
2005012, Jun 16, 2005
Filed:
Dec 11, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/732513
Inventors:
Chenhua You - Manasquan NJ, US
Mohamed Abdelhafez - Old Bridge NJ, US
Yubo Yang - Princeton Junction NJ, US
Anthony Verdes - Brick NJ, US
Markus Lomberg - Ergolding, DE
Michael Hertrich - Freising, DE
Assignee:
DIALIGHT CORPORATION - FARMINGDALE NJ
International Classification:
F21V001/00
US Classification:
362241000
Abstract:
A reflector device to be utilized with light emitting diodes (LEDs), and particularly with high-flux LEDs. In the reflector structure individual reflector portions surround at least one LED. Light output from each individual LED is reflected by sloping walls of each individual reflector portion and is redirected. As a result, light that may otherwise be lost is redirected to a more useful direction. Each individual reflector portion can have a cross-section of a conic shape, a complicated curve, and can also be oval in shape. A light device can be realized by utilizing such a master reflector with an LED light source.

Infrared Safety Beam System

US Patent:
2019035, Nov 21, 2019
Filed:
Jun 27, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/455352
Inventors:
- PISCATAWAY NJ, US
Mohamed ABDELHAFEZ - Cranford NJ, US
International Classification:
G01J 1/02
G01V 8/12
E05F 15/73
G01J 1/04
Abstract:
An optical safety beam method and system has a transmitter that periodically sends bursts of light pulses with varying strengths. The receiver analyzes the received light pulses to automatically adjust its sensitivity and to detect when the light path is partially obstructed even when there are stray light pulse reflections that reach the receiver.

Shoe With Magnetic Attachment Mechanism

US Patent:
2015004, Feb 12, 2015
Filed:
Aug 8, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/455048
Inventors:
- Fairfield CT, US
Catherine Levene - New York NY, US
Mohamed Abdelhafez - Spotswood NJ, US
Renata Squeo - Millstone Township NJ, US
Geoffrey M. Engelstein - Bridgewater NY, US
International Classification:
A43B 3/24
US Classification:
36101, 12142 R
Abstract:
A system and method for customizing footwear with interchangeable straps and soles is provided. In one embodiment, an article of footwear includes an upper assembly with at least one fastener. The fastener of the upper assembly can be inserted into a lower assembly and magnetically attracted to a fastener of the lower assembly so as to removably attach the upper assembly to the lower assembly. The removable attachment of the upper assembly to the lower assembly allows for interchangeability with other lower assemblies and upper assemblies, allowing the article of footwear to be quickly customized to several different styles and/or colors of footwear for different occasions.
