Abstract:
A roller assembly for use, for example, in agricultural machines where the roller assembly has an exterior surface portion adapted to contact a conveyor element supporting the agricultural products and a bearing sub-assembly positioned about an axle in the center of the roller assembly. The bearing sub-assembly has at least one bearing, at least one sealing element having an elastomeric sealing portion positioned outboard of the bearing and at least one standoff also positioned outboard of the bearing. There may be a plug in place of one of the sealing elements, the plug being elastomeric and configured to make a compression fit with the hub.

Agricultural Roller

US Patent:
2003001, Jan 16, 2003
Filed:
Jul 10, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/192019
Inventors:
John Lane - Lafayette CO, US
Wayne Willkomm - Erie CO, US
Thomas Peterson - Broomfield CO, US
Michael Adamson - Broomfield CO, US
Stephen Ulm - Arvada CO, US
International Classification:
B25F005/02
F16C013/00
US Classification:
492/047000
The standoffs have grooves in their outer dimension adapted to receive the elastomeric sealing portion. The diameter of the standoffs are about the same as the diameter of the elastomeric sealing portion. The horizontal length of the standoffs may also be chosen so as to offset the exterior surface portion of the assembly a predetermined distance with respect to the conveyor element.

Reversible Quick Connecting Flail Element For Agricultural Machinery

US Patent:
2008014, Jun 26, 2008
Filed:
Dec 22, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/615509
Inventors:
Thomas T. Peterson - Broomfield CO, US
Wayne Willkomm - Erie CO, US
Michael Adamson - Broomfield CO, US
Stephen C. Ulm - Arvada CO, US
International Classification:
A01D 23/02
US Classification:
5612143
Abstract:
A flail element including a base at the proximal end of the flail element which is connected to a pair of elongated fingers. The base has a bore formed therein which is sized to receive a mounting rod. The bore and the fingers are split to enable a flail to be mounted on the rod by spreading open the fingers and the bore and snapping the flail segment over the rod. Another method of attachment can be achieved by utilizing the shaped base and an appropriate receiving system. The elongated fingers and base form a substantially unitary flail element structure. A plurality of flail elements are mounted to the mounting rod to form a flail. In a defoliating machine a plurality of flails are mounted to a rotating drum.
