Replacement lock levers and related methods are disclosed which accommodate adjustment to acceptable tolerances of the force applied to cans being filled by the platform lift cylinder assemblies of the automatic beverage filling machine, due to an eccentricity of the replacement lock levers.

Key Covers And A Related System And Method

US Patent:
4305267, Dec 15, 1981
Filed:
Nov 7, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/092238
Inventors:
Terry E. Nish - Salt Lake City UT
David J. Jones - Bountiful UT
International Classification:
E05B 1900
US Classification:
70395
Abstract:
Exchangeable key covers, and a related system and method, each key cover at least partially enclosing the proximal end of a hotel or like key, each cover being preferably formed of synthetic resinous material, such as polyethylene, and removably force-fit over the proximal end of the key to display room identification indicia and, if desired, other indicia, whereby no key interconnecting chains, tags or the like are required and the key covers are easily and accurately exchanged between keys in correspondence with rotation of the locks.

Stabilization Of Cans With A Smaller Footprint On A Can Elevating Platform Of Automatic Beverage Filling Machinery

US Patent:
5469899, Nov 28, 1995
Filed:
Jan 31, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/189956
Inventors:
Terry E. Nish - Salt Lake City UT
Assignee:
Servi-Tech Inc. - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
B67C 326
B67C 334
US Classification:
141275
Abstract:
Stirrup and can elevating platform components are disclosed which, in normal operation, do not tilt or mis-align smaller footprint cans as the cans are successively transferred to and elevated by a can platform or a wear plate superimposed upon the can platform prior to and during filling.

Multi-Use Fill Height Test Devices

US Patent:
5138867, Aug 18, 1992
Filed:
Oct 11, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/775665
Inventors:
Terry E. Nish - Salt Lake City UT
Cecil R. McCray - Salt Lake City UT
Assignee:
Servi-Tech, Inc. - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
G01B 330
US Classification:
73 1H
Abstract:
A novel device and related methods which provide manually adjustable standards and controls for quality inspection systems for filling and sealing equipment. The device provides an adjustable product height simulator which is used to calibrate and quality assurance test the performance of quality inspection systems on a filling and sealing line. The height simulation level is detectable without changing sensitivity of the quality inspection system's product level sensor. The device is readjustable for a plurality of uses, rugged for repeated multiple use, and does not degrade over time. Base and top (capping) characteristics provide further adjustable simulation comprising entrapped gas phase between the product and container cap, missing caps, and simulated container forms.

International Classification:
B65B 104
B65B 304
US Classification:
141 1
Abstract:
A pre-fill snift cam assembly and related methods are disclosed. The pre-fill snift cam assembly accommodates pre-fill evacuation of air from cans and bottles being processed by automatic filling equipment and causes the egress air from the containers (cans and bottles) to be discharged in a fashion other than from the fill valves into the beverage bowl, i. e. , into the atmosphere.
