Depth Adjustment For A Fixed Base Router

US Patent:
6726414, Apr 27, 2004
Filed:
Sep 17, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/245151
Inventors:
Matthew James Pientka - Laurens SC
Elton Lee Watson - Greenville SC
Charles Keith Long - Seneca SC
Assignee:
One World Technologies, Limited - Hamilton
International Classification:
B23C 120
US Classification:
409182, 409210, 409218, 14413695
Abstract:
A fixed base router is provided comprising a base having a central bore. The router includes an adjusting ring rotatably affixed to a base upper end, being coaxial with the central bore, and having a series of gear teeth formed thereto defining a ring gear. A motor housing, including a motor for imparting rotational motion to a tool holder, is threadably engaged with the adjusting ring. A pinion gear, journaled for rotation relative to the base, is engaged with the ring gear, and is coupled for rotation with a dial extending from the base. The base is adapted to prevent rotation of the motor housing relative thereto, such that rotation of the adjusting ring axially translates the motor housing relative to the base. The router includes a scale and indicator for indicating fine adjustment of the motor housing relative to the base.

US Classification:
4031096, 4031092, 4031098, 403378, 4033795, 30122, 172438
Abstract:
A power tool coupling system for coupling two boom members of a split-boom power tool. The coupling system includes a first section and a second section. The first section is adapted to be fixedly attached to an end of a first one of the boom members. The first section includes an aperture for receiving a locating member on a second one of the boom members. The second section is movably connected to the first section. The second section is adapted to depress the locating member, while the locating member is located in the aperture of the first section, when the second section is moved from a first to a second position.

Stepped Drive Shaft For A Power Tool

US Patent:
7207393, Apr 24, 2007
Filed:
Dec 2, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/001834
Inventors:
Elton Lee Watson - Greenville SC, US
Assignee:
Eastway Fair Company Ltd. - Tortola
International Classification:

B25G 1/00
US Classification:
173 90, 173 93, 173130
Abstract:
A shaft comprises an input portion and a tang. The tang has a first section, a second section, and a radial bore. The second section is disposed between the first section and the input portion along an axis. A radial cross section of the first section is less than a radial cross section of the second section. The radial bore is disposed on the first section.

Power Tool With Reciprocating Blade

US Patent:
2012019, Aug 2, 2012
Filed:
Jan 27, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/015027
Inventors:
Jesse J. Jerabek - Anderson SC, US
Thomas Parel - Anderson SC, US
Ronald C. McCurry - West Union SC, US
Taku Ohi - Greer SC, US

B23D 51/00
US Classification:
30393, 30514
Abstract:
A power tool includes a housing, a motor supported by the housing and having an output shaft, a planetary transmission coupled to the output shaft and having an output carrier, a dual-eccentric scotch yoke mechanism coupled to the output carrier and drivable by the planetary transmission in response to rotation of the output shaft, and a blade coupled to the dual-eccentric scotch yoke mechanism for movement in a reciprocating manner.

Quick Releasing Support For Line Trimmers

US Patent:
5620121, Apr 15, 1997
Filed:
May 17, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/443239
Inventors:
Elton G. Watson - Cedartown GA
International Classification:
A45F 500
US Classification:
224272
Abstract:
A quick-releasing pivoting support for a line trimmer, which includes the use of a detachable interconnection such as a ball-and-socket to at least partially support the weight of a line trimmer while still allowing pivoting of the trimmer. In the case of an emergency, the trimmer may be simply lifted upwardly while still keeping both hands on the trimmer and quickly discarded by the operator.

Powered Fastener Driver

US Patent:
2023002, Jan 19, 2023
Filed:
Jul 13, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/863942
Inventors:
- Anderson SC, US
Elton L. Watson - Greenville SC, US
Justin Clack - Oak Grove LA, US
International Classification:
B25C 1/04
Abstract:
A powered fastener driver includes a first cylinder, a first piston positioned within the first cylinder, a second cylinder in fluid communication with the first cylinder, and a second piston positioned within the second cylinder. The first piston is moveable between a top-dead-center position and at or near a bottom-dead-center position and the second piston is moveable between a top-dead-center position and a bottom-dead-center position to initiate a fastener driving cycle. A drive blade is coupled to the second piston for movement therewith and a drive mechanism is configured to drive the first piston between the top-dead-center position and at or near the bottom-dead-center position. The drive mechanism includes a crank arm that rotates less than 360 degrees for moving the first piston from at or near the bottom-dead-center position and the top-dead-center position and then back to at or near the bottom-dead-center position to complete the fastener driving cycle.

Devices And Methods For Manual To Motorized Convertible Window Assemblies

US Patent:
2019029, Sep 26, 2019
Filed:
Mar 18, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/356763
Inventors:
- Macau, MO
Michael Preus - Piedmont SC, US
Austin Clark - Greenville SC, US
John Schnell - Anderson SC, US

Abstract:
A motor module is configured to convert a manually-operable window covering assembly to a motorized window covering assembly. In one embodiment, the motor module includes output shaft that engage with couplers of the window covering assembly that receive a spring module when the assembly is in a manually-operated state. The couplers are displaceable such that the spring module and motor module may be either removed and inserted into the assembly. The motor module is made sufficiently compact to fit in the header by arranging a motor, battery, circuit board, and internal gearing system to efficiently use the space in the motor module. In another embodiment, a motorized converter module is configured to be installed on a manually-operated window covering assembly to convert the window covering assembly from a manually-operated state to a motorized stated without removing any components of the window covering assembly.
