Headquarters, Combined Joint Task Force-76, distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious achievement from 16 MAR 2005 to 21 February 2006. During this period, the members of the Combined Task Force-76, consisting of soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and civilians, as well as service members of 19 separate nations, decisively executed combat operations, killed and captured hundreds of al-Qaeda and Taliban forces, apprehended key enemy leaders, recovered weapons caches, and worked with local, provincial, and national Afghan leaders in the pursuit of security, stability, and reconstruction. The task force guided and trained thousands of Afghan nationals in the Afghan National Security Forces, making them visible and reputable institutions throughout the nation of Afghanistan. Additionally, Combined Task Force-76 accelerated strategic reconstruction throughout its area of responsibility by constructing over 250 miles of improved combat roads. The task force waged an historic counterinsurgency campaign, culminating successfully on 18 September 2005 with the peaceful and first national parliamentary election in 30 years. Subsequently, on 19 December 2005, the democratically elected parliament was seated without incident. By their exemplary performance of duty, the members of Headquarters, Combined Joint Task Force-76, have brought great credit upon themselves, their service, and the Department of Defense.

For meeting all the eligibility requirements in accordance with AR 600-8-22 para. 8-9a. (1) The EIB was first created in October 1943. Currently, it is awarded to U.S. Army personnel who hold infantry or special forces military occupational specialties. To be awarded the EIB, the soldier must complete a number of prerequisites and pass a battery of graded tests on basic infantry skills; usually the testing phase is the culmination of weeks of training. The EIB test is administered on average once per year with pass rates usually near 10 percent, depending on the unit conducting testing.

The Parachutist Badge, also commonly referred to as "Jump Wings" is a military badge of the United States Armed Forces awarded to members of the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy. The United States Coast Guard is the only service that does not issue its own Parachutist Badge, but its members are authorized to receive the Parachutist Badges of other services in accordance with their prescribed requirements. The DoD military services are all awarded the same Basic Parachutist Badge.

Headquarters, Combined Joint Task Force-76, distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious achievement from 16 MAR 2005 to 21 February 2006. During this period, the members of the Combined Task Force-76, consisting of soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and civilians, as well as service members of 19 separate nations, decisively executed combat operations, killed and captured hundreds of al-Qaeda and Taliban forces, apprehended key enemy leaders, recovered weapons caches, and worked with local, provincial, and national Afghan leaders in the pursuit of security, stability, and reconstruction. The task force guided and trained thousands of Afghan nationals in the Afghan National Security Forces, making them visible and reputable institutions throughout the nation of Afghanistan. Additionally, Combined Task Force-76 accelerated strategic reconstruction throughout its area of responsibility by constructing over 250 miles of improved combat roads. The task force waged an historic counterinsurgency campaign, culminating successfully on 18 September 2005 with the peaceful and first national parliamentary election in 30 years. Subsequently, on 19 December 2005, the democratically elected parliament was seated without incident. By their exemplary performance of duty, the members of Headquarters, Combined Joint Task Force-76, have brought great credit upon themselves, their service, and the Department of Defense.

For meeting all the eligibility requirements in accordance with AR 600-8-22 para. 8-9a. (1) The EIB was first created in October 1943. Currently, it is awarded to U.S. Army personnel who hold infantry or special forces military occupational specialties. To be awarded the EIB, the soldier must complete a number of prerequisites and pass a battery of graded tests on basic infantry skills; usually the testing phase is the culmination of weeks of training. The EIB test is administered on average once per year with pass rates usually near 10 percent, depending on the unit conducting testing.
