University-wide competition; Authored and submitted research proposal to Washington State University’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Research Program and was awarded full funding for research. Designed, conducted, analyzed and reported results of independent research on morphine tolerance and the Periaqueductal Gray. This research introduced a new experimental design to compare the effects of chronic pain to acute pain on the development of morphine tolerance in a laboratory setting.
