Adam Dworak - Northbrook IL, US
Chris Heezen - Arlington Heights IL, US
Jose Gutierrez - Mundelein IL, US
Assignee:
Amcor Flexibles Healthcare, Inc. - Mundelein IL
International Classification:
A61B 17/06
US Classification:
206438, 206204, 206439, 206484, 2064841, 383 38, 383102, 53425, 53434
Abstract:
The invention provides a dual compartment pouch having first and second compartments that are separated from each other by an impervious inner sheet having a breathable membrane. The breathable membrane comprises a breathable material that is pervious to moisture and gases, and impervious to liquids as well as microorganisms. The breathable membrane allows a sterilizing gas to be introduced between the first and second compartments. The front and back sheets are sealed to the inner sheet to define the first and second compartments in which the inner sheet forms a common wall between the compartments. The breathable membrane is disposed towards a central portion of the inner sheet and is spaced apart from the seams joining the front and back sheets to the inner sheet. In one embodiment, a sterilized article is disposed in one compartment, and an absorbent packets are disposed in the other compartment.

In one embodiment, a sterilized article is disposed in the interior of the sterilizable package.

Method And Apparatus For Continuously Forming And Sealing Low Density Polyethylene Bags At High Speed

US Patent:
5094657, Mar 10, 1992
Filed:
Nov 29, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/620138
Inventors:
Adam J. Dworak - Chicago IL
Charles E. Cloud - Northbrook IL
Assignee:
Cloud Corporation - Des Plaines IL
International Classification:
B65B 5114
B65B 5116
B65B 5126
B31B 164
US Classification:
493208
Abstract:
A high speed method of manufacture of filled polyethylene pouches from polyethylene film comprising the steps of folding the film and causing it to move in folded flat form transversely sealing the film at longitudinally spaced intervals forming a continuous length of open edged unfilled polyethylene pouches, perforating the strip or web forming transversely extending longitudinally spaced lines of perforations between the pouches, exerting a vacuum upon the strip or web holding down sides of the unfilled pouches to stabilize the held sides thereof, blowing air at the open edged unfilled polyethylene pouches separating unheld sides of the pouches away from the vacuum held sides of the pouches, thus consecutively opening the pouches preparatory for filling the pouches, filling the pouches by moving articles to be packaged into the opened unfilled ends of the pouches, sealing the open ends of the filled pouches, and severing the pouches from the continuous strip for cartoning.

Packaging Machine With Rotary Top Sealer

US Patent:
6212859, Apr 10, 2001
Filed:
May 19, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/081118
Inventors:
Richard Bielik - Palos Park IL
Robert Czolek - Chicago IL
Adam Dworak - Northbrook IL
Robert Anderson - Huntley IL
August Zurawski - Elmhurst IL
Charles E. Cloud - Northbrook IL
Assignee:
Cloud Corporation, LLC - Des Plaines IL
International Classification:
B65B 4304
B31B 164
US Classification:
53455
Abstract:
A method of continuously forming, filling and sealing of packages with a continuous web of film material is disclosed and comprises the steps of providing a continuous web of film material and folding the web to provide confronting sides joined along a bottom edge and forming a vertical seal at spaced intervals along the web. This process forms a series of horizontally disposed pouches having opposed sidewalls separated by the vertical seals with each pouch being unsealed along a top edge. The pouches are then opened by separating the opposed sidewalls and are then filled with a product. After the pouches are filled, the top edge of each pouch is sealed together to enclose the filled pouches by training the pouches onto a horizontal rotary sealer having a heated circular sealer plate and progressively forming a continuous horizontal seal as the top edge of each pouch is being continuously moved along with a circumference of the heated circular sealer plate while at the same time applying an adequate temperature to provide a sealing action and allowing the top edge of each pouch to be joined together and smoothly sealed to enclose the filled pouches. This sealing method enables the packages to receive a greater amount of fill while still being able to provide a smooth, uniform seal.

Compression Filler For Aerateable Powders

US Patent:
5549144, Aug 27, 1996
Filed:
Feb 7, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/385048
Inventors:
Adam J. Dworak - Park Ridge IL
Donn A. Hartman - Gurnee IL
Assignee:
Cloud Corporation - Des Plaines IL
International Classification:
B65B 100
US Classification:
141146
Abstract:
A filling head for a pouch packaging machine or the like has a plurality of rotating chambers for receiving measured amounts of an aerateable powder. Pistons aligned with the chambers can be inserted into the chambers to compress the powder and remove entrained air. The pistons are made of porous metal and communicate with a vacuum source for removing air from the chambers. The chambers can be opened after the compression stage to dispense the compacted pellet of product to an open pouch below.

Positioning Mechanism For High Speed Packaging Machinery

US Patent:
5447219, Sep 5, 1995
Filed:
Dec 6, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/161430
Inventors:
Adam J. Dworak - Park Ridge IL
Donn A. Hartman - Gurnee IL
Assignee:
Cloud Corporation - Des Plaines IL
International Classification:
B65G 4724
US Classification:
198377
Abstract:
A high speed packaging machine for making pouches of fluent material has a transfer wheel that changes the orientation of the finished, individual pouches. The wheel has a plurality of holder shafts rotatably mounted in the transfer wheel. The holder shafts mount vacuum cups for holding a pouch. The holder shafts also have a pinion which is engaged by a gear which in turn is actuated by a cam follower. The cam follower engages a stationary cam and is constrained for movement within a cam path. The cam follower causes rotation of the gear, pinion and holder shaft. The cam follower can be connected to the gear in either a leading or lagging position so the direction of holder shaft rotation can be selected without altering the cam or cam path.

User Interfaces For Managing Listings In A Secondary Marketplace

US Patent:
2021012, Apr 29, 2021
Filed:
Oct 23, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/661640
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Adam Dworak - Chicago IL, US
International Classification:
G06Q 30/06
G06F 3/0482
Abstract:
An improved user interface is presented on a client device of a seller of an item. The improved user interface includes one or more interactive user interface elements for facilitating a listing of the item on a secondary market associated with a set of online exchange platforms. The listing of the ticket on the secondary market is simultaneous with the listing of the ticket on a primary market. A selection element provides for selecting one or more connections of the seller to whom the listing of the ticket on the secondary market is to be made accessible. Based on a determination that a connection of the one or more connections of the seller has entered into an agreement to purchase the ticket on the secondary market, the seller is charged a listing fee associated with the secondary market and the listing of the item is automatically removed from the secondary market.
