US Patent:
7504983, Mar 17, 2009
Filed:
Feb 16, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/707476
Inventors:
Wayne Chen - New York NY, US
Adam Gold - New York NY, US
Andrew Serbinski - Annandale NJ, US
John Gardner - Mullica NJ, US
Assignee:
Adaptiv Technologies LLC - New York NY
International Classification:
G01S 7/42
US Classification:
342 20
Abstract:
A communication system for use with a motorcycle includes a main unit that has a detector and a transmitter that transmits an alert signal upon the detection of a radar or laser by the detector. The system further includes either a visual indicator or an audio indicator. The visual indicator has a receiver that receives the alert signal from the transmitter, and a display which provides a visual display of the alert signal. The audio indicator has a receiver that receives the alert signal from the transmitter, and a speaker which emits an auditory response of the alert signal. The system can further include a mounting assembly having a connector that is removably connected to a part of a motorcycle, a support bracket to which the main unit is removably coupled, and a link that pivotably couples the support bracket and the connector.

Articulating Mechanism For Remote Manipulation Of A Surgical Or Diagnostic Tool

US Patent:
7615066, Nov 10, 2009
Filed:
Jul 13, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/181445
Inventors:
David J. Danitz - San Jose CA, US
Adam C. Gold - New York NY, US
Assignee:
Novare Surgical Systems, Inc. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
A61B 17/00
US Classification:
606205, 606207, 606208, 600139, 600141, 600142, 600146
Abstract:
The invention provides an articulating mechanism useful, for example, for remote manipulation of various surgical instruments and diagnostic tools within, or to, regions of the body. Movement of segments at the proximal end of the mechanism results in a corresponding, relative movement of segments at the distal end of the mechanism. The proximal and distal segments are connected by a set of cables in such a fashion that each proximal segment forms a discrete pair with a distal segment. This configuration allows each segment pair to move independently of one another and also permits the articulating mechanism to undergo complex movements and adopt complex configurations.
