Dual-Layer Balloon Design And Method Of Making The Same

US Patent:
2016008, Mar 31, 2016
Filed:
Sep 30, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/870892
Inventors:
- Maple Grove MN, US
Daniel James Horn - Shoreview MN, US
Adam Joseph Royer - Brooklyn Park MN, US
International Classification:
A61M 25/10
B29C 49/00
Abstract:
An expandable medical balloon, the expandable medical balloon comprising a first balloon wall, the first balloon wall comprising a first balloon layer of polyethylene terephthalate having a first intrinsic viscosity, the first layer is outer to a second layer of polyethylene terephthalate, the second balloon layer of polyethylene terephthalate having a second intrinsic viscosity, the second layer is an inner layer, wherein the intrinsic viscosity of the first balloon layer is higher than the intrinsic viscosity of the second balloon layer by about 0.05 dl/g or more.

Nerve Modulation Devices With Cooling Capabilities

US Patent:
2015034, Dec 3, 2015
Filed:
May 27, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/723000
Inventors:
- MAPLE GROVE MN, US
ADAM J. ROYER - BROOKLYN PARK MN, US
DEREK C. SUTERMEISTER - HAM LAKE MN, US
CASS A. HANSON - ST. PAUL MN, US
JEFFREY S. LINDQUIST - MAPLE GROVE MN, US
Assignee:
BOSTON SCIENTIFIC SCIMED, INC. - MAPLE GROVE MN
International Classification:
A61B 18/14
Abstract:
Medical devices and methods and making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include an elongate shaft having a distal region. An expandable member may be coupled to the distal region. The expandable member may be capable of shifting between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. The expandable member may have a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a body portion disposed between the distal portion and the proximal portion. The body portion may have a projection formed therein that projects radially outward from the body portion. A flexible electrode assembly may be coupled to the projection.

Medical Devices For Modulating Nerves

US Patent:
2014025, Sep 11, 2014
Filed:
Feb 28, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/194524
Inventors:
- Maple Grove MN, US
ADAM J. ROYER - BROOKLYN PARK MN, US
JEFFREY S. LINDQUIST - MAPLE GROVE MN, US
DANIEL J. HORN - SHOREVIEW MN, US
Assignee:
BOSTON SCIENTIFIC SCIMED, INC. - MAPLE GROVE MN
International Classification:
A61B 18/14
A61M 25/10
US Classification:
606 41, 427 21
Abstract:
Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a medical device for modulating nerves. The medical device may include an elongate shaft having a distal region. A balloon may be coupled to the distal region. An electrode may be disposed within the balloon. A virtual electrode may be defined on the balloon. The virtual electrode may include a conductive region having an edge and a peripheral region disposed at least partially along the edge of the conductive region. The peripheral region may be configured to dissipate forces, electrical current, or both accumulating along the edge of the conductive region.
