Tune Stabilizing Device For A Stringed Instrument

US Patent:
2014026, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Aug 20, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/970894
Inventors:
Anthony P. Artino - Hudson OH, US
International Classification:
G10D 3/12
US Classification:
84297 R
Abstract:
Some embodiments may generally relate to a wire tension stabilizing device. Such a device may comprise a floating base plate and at least one clamping block which can be fastened to the base plate using a clamping screw. One or more tensioned wires may be clamped between the base plate and the clamping block. An embodiment may also include a set of fine-tuner screws adapted to engage the tensioned wires side-on to effect slight adjustments in tension. Embodiments may optionally include elements which bias the clamping block(s) away from the base plate so that the two separate when the clamping screw is loosened. Embodiments may be adapted for installation on musical instruments, such as guitars, or may be adapted for use in any application where precise wire tensioning must be maintained despite large transient fluctuations in tension.
