Apparatus And System For Producing Coal Gas

US Patent:
4212652, Jul 15, 1980
Filed:
Apr 5, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/893715
Inventors:
Anthony A. duPont - Palos Verdes Estates CA
International Classification:
C10B 302
US Classification:
48 89
Abstract:
Apparatus and system for producing high pressure gas, such as high pressure coal gas from coal, air and water. Pulverized coal is introduced into a rising stream of steam in a central reaction column of a retort to constitute a fluidized or entrained bed. The coal reacts with the steam to form a gas consisting of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane and higher hydrocarbons. The retort is constructed so that product gas and air may be burned in an annular chamber surrounding the central reaction column to produce hot flue gas. The hot flue gas is used to drive a turbine which in turn, drives a compressor which introduces compressed air into the annular chamber. Steam tubes may be disposed in the annular space so that the steam introduced to the central reaction chamber may be super-heated by the hot flue gas. The high pressure in the annular chamber enables the pressure within the central reaction column to be relatively high without causing the hot wall surrounding the reaction column to rupture.

Engine Economizer Control Unit

US Patent:
4201164, May 6, 1980
Filed:
Oct 17, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/842415
Inventors:
Anthony A. duPont - Torrance CA
International Classification:
F02D 3900
US Classification:
123117R
Abstract:
A two-position pilot-operated control unit is provided for reducing the fuel-to-air ratio and for simultaneously advancing the ignition of a piston-type aircraft engine so as to achieve a significant saving in fuel consumption during flight operations.

Jet Aircraft

US Patent:
4482109, Nov 13, 1984
Filed:
Jun 4, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/270578
Inventors:
Anthony A. duPont - Palos Verdes Estates CA
International Classification:
B64C 1502
B64C 2900
US Classification:
244 125
Abstract:
A jet aircraft is provided of the vertical or short take off and land (VSTOL) type which is a stable and controllable in all flight attitudes. The aircraft exhibits a high engine thrust/weight ratio which enables it to achieve shorter take-off, shorter landing distances and faster climbs as compared with prior art aircraft of the same general type. The aircraft includes two jet engines mounted side-by-side in its nose which assist in achieving smooth variation in cross-sectional area so that the area rule is not violated, and this enables efficient flight speeds in the sonic vicinity to be achieved. The exhaust of each engine of the aircraft is controlled by a thrust deflector and associated air foil array, the thrust deflector being deflected downwardly at an angle of substantially 75. degree. to the horizontal aircraft center line during take-off so that the aircraft may take off and land vertically in a nose-high attitude with the engine inlets at the nose of the aircraft displaced up and away from the ground so as to prevent any ingestion through the inlets of forward moving air.

Process For The Preparation Of Hydrogen

US Patent:
4010249, Mar 1, 1977
Filed:
Sep 15, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/613236
Inventors:
Anthony A. DUPont - Rolling Hills CA
International Classification:
C01B 108
C01G 5302
C01G 5304
C01G 5300
US Classification:
423657
Abstract:
Hydrogen is produced from water by the addition of heat to a series of chemical reactions which comprise the reaction of cadmium with water, and the subsequent recovery of the cadmium for re-use. The equipment used to produce the hydrogen requires only the input of water and heat to produce an output of hydrogen and oxygen gas.

System And Methods For Representing Seismic Cross-Sectional And Analogous Data In A Three-Dimensional Geographic Information System

US Patent:
2019028, Sep 19, 2019
Filed:
Feb 28, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/289537
Inventors:
Scott David Morris - Playa Del Rey CA, US
Anthony Kalani Dupont - Huntington Beach CA, US
John Daniel Grace - Long Beach CA, US
Assignee:
Earth Science Associates, Inc. - Long Beach CA
International Classification:
G06T 17/05
G01V 1/28
G06T 15/04
Abstract:
The present invention comprises a system and methods for the conversion of time-recorded seismic data, or images made from them after conversion of time to depth, into data structures that can be imported into and used in a three-dimensional geographic information system. The system and methods are robust with respect to the forms in which the seismic data is input into the invention. The system is general in that it is applicable to cross-sectional data other than those derived in seismic surveys and requires very non-restrictive definitions of cross-sectional planes, their orientations and datums with respect to the volumes they intersect.
