Composite Video Multiplexing Scheme

US Patent:
6795112, Sep 21, 2004
Filed:
Mar 13, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/039111
Inventors:
Anthony M. Radice - Riverside NJ
Assignee:
General Instrument Corp. - Horsham PA
International Classification:
H04N 718
US Classification:
348159
Abstract:
A composite video multiplexing arrangement for allowing a plurality of low bit rate video signals to be multiplexed into a single coded signal to be transmitted to an associated receiver. For use with arrangements such a security system, each video âsourceâ (such as a camera) includes a coder module for forming a digital representation of the video, including both âsourceâ and âlineâ information. Each coder module includes a FIFO buffer for holding this data until multiplexed onto the single output signal. An associated decoder is capable of extracting the âsourceâ and âlineâ information and regenerating each separate video signal.

Abstract:
A method for selectively and multiply routing a media stream input to a media appliance is provided. The method includes receiving the media stream. Further, the method includes distributing the media stream onto a plurality of individual media paths within the media appliance. Furthermore, the method includes routing the media stream on at least a first one of the media paths to a first media processor within the media appliance, while simultaneously routing the media stream on at least one other of the media paths to at least one additional media processor within the media appliance.

Method And System For Routing Of Media Signals

US Patent:
2008015, Jun 26, 2008
Filed:
Dec 21, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/614458
Inventors:
David C. Goodwin - Holland PA, US
Thomas L. Du Breuil - Ivyland PA, US
Peter A. Kindinger - Cary IL, US
Mark A. Kolber - Churchville PA, US
Anthony M. Radice - Chalfont PA, US
Clyde N. Robbins - Maple Glen PA, US
Assignee:
GENERAL INSTRUMENT CORPORATION - Horsham PA
International Classification:
H04L 12/66
US Classification:
370352
Abstract:
A video information appliance () for facilitating routing of a plurality of independent video signals is provided. The video information appliance includes a plurality of video signal input interfaces (), a signal router (), a plurality of video output ports () and a processor (). Each of the plurality of video signal input interfaces is adapted to facilitate reception of the plurality of independent video signals. The signal router is coupled to the plurality of video signal input interface. The plurality of video output ports are coupled to the signal router. The processor is adapted to control the signal router to selectively direct at least one of the received independent video signals to at least a first video output port. The processor is also adapted to direct at least one other of the received independent video signals to at least a second video output port.

Use Of Immunomodulatory Compounds For The Treatment Of Transverse Myelitis, Multiple Sclerosis, And Other Disorders

US Patent:
2009015, Jun 18, 2009
Filed:
Nov 26, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/324728
Inventors:
Robert J. Hariri - Bernardsville NJ, US
David I. Stirling - Branchburg NJ, US
Herbert Faleck - West Orange NJ, US
Anthony D. Radice - Summit NJ, US
International Classification:
A61K 38/21
A61K 31/56
A61K 31/445
A61K 39/395
US Classification:
424 854, 514171, 514315, 4241301
Abstract:
Methods of treating, preventing or managing transverse myelitis, multiple sclerosis, and/or other disorders are disclosed. The methods encompass the administration of an immunomodulatory compound provided herein, such as 3-(4-amino-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-isoindol-2-yl-piperidine-2,6-dione or 1,3-dioxo-2-(2,6-dioxopiperidin-3-yl)-4-aminoisoindoline. Further described are methods of treatment using the immunomodulatory compounds in combination with a second active agent. Pharmaceutical compositions and single unit dosage forms suitable for use in the methods provided herein are also disclosed.

Recording Random Data Having A First Data Rate On A Digital Video Recorder At An Independent Second Data Rate

US Patent:
5475498, Dec 12, 1995
Filed:
Aug 10, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/104254
Inventors:
Anthony M. Radice - Riverside NJ
Assignee:
General Instrument Corporation - Hatboro PA
International Classification:
H04N 576
G11B 500
G11B 509
US Classification:
358335
Abstract:
Interface apparatus is provided for enabling a digital video recorder to function as a universal data recorder. A random input data stream provided at a first data rate is converted to a format that emulates a video signal. The converted input data is input, at a video signal data rate, to a digital video recorder for storage. The stored converted data is played back from the video recorder at the video signal data rate. The retrieved data is then converted back to the original format of the input data stream at the first data rate.

Method And Apparatus For Communicating A Plurality Of Asynchronous Signals Over A Digital Communication Path

US Patent:
5138440, Aug 11, 1992
Filed:
Oct 29, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/604868
Inventors:
Anthony M. Radice - Riverside NJ
Assignee:
General Instrument Corporation - Hatboro PA
International Classification:
H04N 1106
H04N 704
US Classification:
358 13
Abstract:
Multiple asynchronous signals are transmitted and received through a digital link. Each of a plurality of information signals is digitized at a digitizing rate derived from a component of the signal. For example, the color subcarrier of a television signal can be used to establish the digitizing rate for video and audio signal portions. Each digitized signal is packetized for communication at a transmission rate greater than and asynchronous with its digitizing rate. A variable time interval results between successive transmitted packets for each signal. The time interval between each successive packet for each signal is filled with a variable number of pad bits to provide a continuous data stream. The data streams for all of the signals are multiplexed to provide a combined data stream for transmission. Each packet for each of the signals contains a fixed number of data bits digitized over a fixed time interval related to the digitizing rate for the signal.
