US Classification:
600459, 600437, 600375, 600523
Abstract:
A handheld ultrasound instrument is disclosed having enhanced diagnostic modes including pulse wave Doppler, time-motion analysis, and tissue harmonic imaging. An external electrocardiograph (ECG) recording unit is also disclosed. The ECG unit is adaptable to be used with the handheld ultrasound instrument to provide for ECG monitoring while performing an ultrasound scan in B-mode, Doppler, color Doppler, M-mode, and PW mode. The enhanced handheld ultrasound instrument further includes a security mechanism allowing any combination of the diagnostic modes to be enabled by the manufacturer, and later to enable or disable any one or group of the diagnostic modes. The invention also discloses a method for a manufacturer to maintain a database of handheld ultrasound instrument capabilities after the instruments enter the stream of commerce.

Abstract:
A handheld ultrasound instrument is disclosed having enhanced diagnostic modes including pulse/continuous wave Doppler, time-motion analysis, spectral analysis and tissue harmonic imaging. An external electrocardiograph (ECG) recording unit is also disclosed. The ECG unit is adaptable to be used with the handheld ultrasound instrument to provide for ECG monitoring while performing an ultrasound scan in B-mode, Doppler, color Doppler, M-mode, and CW/PW mode.

Product Inspection Method And Apparatus

US Patent:
5335293, Aug 2, 1994
Filed:
Jun 16, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/899450
Inventors:
Anthony Vannelli - Walla Walla WA
Thomas C. Madsen - Walla Walla WA
Assignee:
Key Technology, Inc. - Walla Walla WA
International Classification:
G06K 900
US Classification:
382 17
Abstract:
Described herein is an automated quality inspection station for evaluating color component characteristics of a product. The inspection station includes a color video camera, for capturing video frames of product images, and a control system for analyzing those video frames. The control system is programmed to perform a reference calibration and then a sample calibration. During the reference calibration an operator identifies component type areas from a displayed reference frame of a typical product assortment. The control system calculates color value density curves from the identified areas. The density curves are then calibrated to each other by scaling each of the density curves by a scaling factor. The scaling factors can either be provided directly by the operator or default values can be calculated by the control system. Default scaling factor values are calculated by summing the product of the corresponding density curve and an overall histogram of a sample video frame over a range of color values.

Memory Emulation Method And System For Testing And Troubleshooting Microprocessor-Based Electronic Systems

US Patent:
4868822, Sep 19, 1989
Filed:
Feb 19, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/158223
Inventors:
Marshall H. Scott - Woodinville WA
Robert E. Cuckler - Bothell WA
John D. Polstra - Seattle WA
Anthony R. Vannelli - Everett WA
W. Douglas Hazelton - Everett WA
Assignee:
John Fluke Mfg. Co., Inc. - Everett WA
International Classification:
G06F 1100
G01R 3128
US Classification:
371 16
Abstract:
A method and system for testing and troubleshooting microprocessor-based electronic systems employs memory emulation techniques as well as other techniques to provide complete functionality tests and fault location. Fine-resolution sync pulses may be generated at preselected time positions during a bus cycle of interest to facilitate full troubleshooting fault isolation. Other features include bus testing using memory emulation techniques, using the chip select line of ROMs to encode test results, and techniques that keep a target microprocessor functioning in a system in which the kernel is dead.
