Appl. No.:
08/448946
Inventors:
Arjun Singh - Pacifica CA, US
Assignee:
Genentech, Inc. - South San Francisco CA
International Classification:
C12P 21/02
C12N 1/19
C12N 15/81
US Classification:
435 6951, 435 691, 435 696, 435 699, 4352542, 4353201
Abstract:
The isolation of the yeast α-factor genes is described. The promoter and signal peptide portions are isolated and joined to DNA coding for proteins heterologous to yeast in a plasmid which is used to transform yeast cells. The yeast expresses the heterologous DNA and processes and secretes the heterologous protein.

Load-Balanced Routing

US Patent:
7633940, Dec 15, 2009
Filed:
Jun 27, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/167906
Inventors:
Arjun Singh - Palo Alto CA, US
William J. Dally - Stanford CA, US
Assignee:
The Board of Trustees of the LeLand Stanford Junior University - Palo Alto CA
International Classification:
H04L 12/28
G01R 31/08
US Classification:
370389, 370237
Abstract:
Network routing is effected for interconnection networks. According to an example embodiment of the present invention, an adaptive load-balanced routing approach is implemented for interconnection networks. Approximate global congestion is sensed as a function of congestion of channel queues, with routing approaches selected in accordance with the sensed congestion.

Method And System For Discovering Network Paths

US Patent:
7760735, Jul 20, 2010
Filed:
Feb 6, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/703461
Inventors:
Jun Chen - Sunnyvale CA, US
Joon Suan Ong - Mountain View CA, US
Jason Marc Simmons - Mountain View CA, US
Arjun Singh - Palo Alto CA, US
Michael John Wakerly - Mountain View CA, US
Assignee:
Google Inc. - Mountain View CA
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
H04J 1/16
G06F 11/00
G08C 15/00
G01R 31/08
US Classification:
370392, 370245, 370395, 709238
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that identifies network switches along a path. During operation, the system receives an address of a source node and an address of a destination node. The system maintains a set of topology information for a network. The system further simulates a data packet originated at the source node and destined for the destination node. During the simulation, the system determines whether a current-hop node performs layer-3, layer-2, or sub-layer-2 switching. The system sends a query to the current-hop node over a separate control channel to determine the status of the current-hop node and discover a next-hop node. The system then receives a reply. The system determines the next-hop node based on the reply and sets the next-hop node as the current-hop node.

Preparation Of Human Igf Via Recombinant Dna Technology

US Patent:
6331609, Dec 18, 2001
Filed:
Jun 5, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/464361
Inventors:
James M. Lee - San Bruno CA
Axel Ullrich - Munich, DE
Arjun Singh - Pacifica CA
Assignee:
Genentech, Inc. - South San Francisco CA
International Classification:
C07K 1465
US Classification:
530324
Abstract:
Human insulin-like growth factor is synthesized in recombinant cell culture by host cells transformed with expression vectors bearing DNA encoding human insulin-like growth factor.

Weighted Bandwidth Allocation For Adaptive Routing

US Patent:
2021016, May 27, 2021
Filed:
Nov 27, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/697339
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Arjun Singh - Mountain View CA, US
Moray McLaren - Mountain View CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/707
H04L 12/721
H04L 12/733
H04L 12/717
Abstract:
Systems and methods of routing are provided. In the system, one or more processors determine that a packet is to be transmitted to a destination. In one or more aspects of the system, the one or more processors select a next port to be used for transmitting the packet by selecting a set of ports among a plurality of ports based on a static weight configuration associated with each port. The next port may be selected from the set of ports based on a number of hops required to reach the destination from each port and based on an estimated latency from each port to the destination. The one or more processors may then route the packet through the selected next port.

System And Method For Software Defined Routing Of Traffic Within And Between Autonomous Systems With Enhanced Flow Routing, Scalability And Security

US Patent:
2015028, Oct 1, 2015
Filed:
Sep 5, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/478217
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Steven Padgett - Sunnyvale CA, US
Ankur Jain - Mountain View CA, US
Arjun Singh - Mountain View CA, US
Amin Vahdat - Los Altos CA, US
Mahesh Kallahalla - Sunnyvale CA, US
Mukarram Tariq - Los Gatos CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/741
H04L 12/947
Abstract:
An autonomous network and a corresponding routing method include determining routing paths by a controller, and providing the determined routing paths to a data packet processor located remotely from the controller. The data packet processor routes outgoing data packets, based on information from the controller, through a plurality of switches remotely from the data packet processor. Each switch includes a plurality of network interfaces. For an outgoing data packet, the data packet processor determines a network interface over which to transmit the data packet, and adds an indication of the determined network interface in a header of the data packet. The data packet processor forwards the modified data packet to the switch including the determined network interface. The switch identifies the network interface based on the indication, and transmits the outgoing data packet over the identified network interface.

Method And Apparatus For A Poker Game

US Patent:
2014037, Dec 18, 2014
Filed:
Jun 12, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/915866
Inventors:
Ashok K. Singh - Henderson NV, US
Rohan J. Dalpatadu - Las Vegas NV, US
Arjun K. Singh - Henderson NV, US
Anthony F. Lucas - Henderson NV, US
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
US Classification:
463 13
Abstract:
A game is illustrated and described having a number of rows R and a number of columns C arranged in an R×C matrix, where R defines the number of rows displayed to a player and where C defines the number of columns displayed to the player. In one embodiment, a separate virtual reel is provided for each column and a separate set of symbols is associated with each virtual reel. A symbol is then randomly selected for each position in the R×C matrix from the set of symbols associated with the virtual reel provided for the column. In another embodiment, a method of stud or draw poker is disclosed, in which cards are dealt in a pattern, and the player is allowed to move the cards within the pattern, i.e., rearrange the pattern so as to increase the payout or value of the hand. The payout of the hand is determined by the total value of poker hands on designated pay lines in a pattern.
