Engine Operation Detecting Circuit For A Visual Display

US Patent:
6377168, Apr 23, 2002
Filed:
Sep 7, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/656578
Inventors:
Arthur James Harvey - Mantua OH
Assignee:
Delta Systems, Inc. - Streetsboro OH
International Classification:
B60Q 100
US Classification:
340439, 340648, 12342656
Abstract:
A timing circuit for providing an output to a microcontroller indicating whether an engine is operating, wherein the engine has a magneto. The circuit includes a triac coupled to the magneto for switching output generating circuitry between an engine on condition to an engine off condition in response to an operating condition of the engine. The output generating circuitry provides a signal indicating that the engine is not operating to the microcontroller when the circuitry is in an engine off condition and provides a signal indicating that the engine is operating to the microcontroller when the circuitry is in an engine on condition.

Hall Effect Seat Switch

US Patent:
6457545, Oct 1, 2002
Filed:
Jun 5, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/586865
Inventors:
Jan L. Michaud - Cuyahoga Falls OH
Arthur J. Harvey - Mantua OH
Assignee:
Delta Systems, Inc. - Streetsboro OH
International Classification:
B60K 2800
US Classification:
180272, 180273, 280735, 340666, 340667, 200 85 A, 335205, 177210
Abstract:
A Hall effect safety switch assembly for de-activating a motor vehicle if a user is not positioned on a vehicle seat. The assembly includes a switch frame for mounting the assembly, a magnet and a hall effect sensor mounted to the switch frame in a spaced apart relationship, and a vane that moves in response to the presence of a vehicle operator on the seat that causes the Hall effect sensor to provide an inhibit signal that prevents an engine from running.

Triple Pole Safety Switch And Connector

US Patent:
6483061, Nov 19, 2002
Filed:
Sep 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/960539
Inventors:
Arthur James Harvey - Mantua OH
Michael Eric Liedtke - Massillon OH
Jay Dean Atkinson - Cambridge OH
Assignee:
Delta Systems, Inc. - Streetsboro OH
International Classification:
H01H 900
US Classification:
200532, 200 51 R, 200 5 R, 200 16 B, 200530, 200531
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to three pole plunger switch assembly. The assembly includes a three pole plunger switch and a mating connector. The plunger switch includes a switch housing for supporting components of the plunger switch and a plunger extending into an interior region of the switch housing and being actuatable from outside the switch housing wherein the plunger adapted to move between a normal position and an actuated position. The plunger switch further includes first, second and third electrically conductive wiper contacts mounted to the plunger for movement with the plunger and first, second and third sets of terminals extending into the switch housing interior region. Respective terminals of the first and second terminal sets are substantially aligned. The terminals of the third terminal set are perpendicular to the terminals of the first and second terminal sets.

Lawn And Garden Control Module

US Patent:
6609357, Aug 26, 2003
Filed:
Jan 31, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/062029
Inventors:
Dennis L. Davis - Chagrin Falls OH
Arthur James Harvey - Mantua OH
Theodore G. Wetzel - Mayfield OH
James Rundo - Chesterland OH
Assignee:
Delta Systems, Inc. - Streetsboro OH
International Classification:
A01D 6900
US Classification:
56 102A, 701 25
Abstract:
Control method and apparatus for a lawn mower or a lawn and garden tractor that includes a programmable controller for monitoring a mower/tractor status. The controller includes an interface for monitoring inputs relating to a status of the mower/tractor and controlling outputs that regulate operation of the mower/tractor. The controller also includes a memory for storing instructions to implement a control over operation of the mower/tractor. The instructions include instructions for determining a safety status condition based on sensed inputs and outputting a signal from the interface of the controller that inhibits operation of a lawn mower/tractor motor or engine in response to a determination of the safety status condition.

Radio Frequency Powered Switch

US Patent:
6618022, Sep 9, 2003
Filed:
Apr 22, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/128052
Inventors:
Arthur James Harvey - Mantua OH
Assignee:
Delta Systems, Inc. - Streetsboro OH
International Classification:
H01Q 324
US Classification:
343876, 343841, 200 5, 3405727
Abstract:
A self contained radio frequency identification integrated circuit (RFIDIC) switch. The RFIDIC switch includes a switch housing, a radio frequency identification integrated circuit enclosed in the switch housing and an actuator extending into the switch housing. The RFIDIC is powered by a radio frequency carrier signal. The actuator is movable to a first position and to a second position. The radio frequency identification integrated circuit transmits a signal when said actuator is in one of the positions. Movement of the actuator to the other position alters said signal.
