US Patent:
2022030, Sep 29, 2022
Filed:
Jun 12, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/618323
Inventors:
- Seattle WA, US
- Boston MA, US
Jonathan Posner - Seattle WA, US
Derin Sevenler - Boston MA, US
Benjamin Sullivan - Seattle WA, US
Andrew Bender - Seattle WA, US
Jane Zhang - Seattle WA, US

Assignee:
University of Washington - Seattle WA
The General Hospital Corporation - Boston MA
International Classification:
C12Q 1/48
G01N 21/64
G01N 33/53
G01N 33/58
Abstract:
The disclosure addresses methods, compositions, and kits used to detect or quantify polymerase inhibitors in biological samples. The polymerase inhibitors can be therapeutic agents, or metabolites thereof, that have been administered to a subject as part of, for example, antiretroviral therapy (ART) or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to address potential infections by, e.g., retroviruses such as HIV and other viruses reliant on reverse transcription. These methods, compositions, and kits can be applied to monitor a subject's compliance with the indicated therapies and can inform potential adjustments to the therapies.

H05K 3/28
H01B 13/00
D02G 3/44
D02G 3/36
D02G 3/38
Abstract:
Examples are disclosed that relate to electronically functional yarns. One example provides an electronically functional yarn comprising a core, a sheath at least partially surrounding the core, and an electronic circuit formed on the core. The circuit includes three or more control lines and more than three diode-containing circuit elements controllable by the three or more control lines, each circuit element being controllable via a corresponding set of two of the three or more control lines.

Electronic Functionality In Textiles

US Patent:
2019024, Aug 8, 2019
Filed:
Feb 6, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/890116
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
James David HOLBERY - Bellevue WA, US
Siyuan MA - Bothell WA, US
Benjamin SULLIVAN - Seattle WA, US
Don Pasindu Vijai LUGODA - Nugegoda, LK
Assignee:
Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC - Redmond WA
International Classification:
D03D 1/00
H05K 1/03
D03D 15/02
H05K 3/02
B32B 5/26
B32B 7/02
B32B 27/02
Abstract:
Examples are disclosed herein that relate to electronically functional textile articles. One example provides a knitted textile article comprising a first conductive thread and a second conductive thread knit into the article in such a manner as to form a conductive junction separated by a gap. The knitted textile article further comprises a knitted surface texture feature formed at a location that defines an opening over the gap, and an electronic component connecting the gap to form a circuit with the first conductive thread and the second conductive thread.

Electroactive Perimeter Stiffener

US Patent:
2019023, Aug 1, 2019
Filed:
Feb 1, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/886482
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Benjamin P. SULLIVAN - Redmond WA, US
International Classification:
H04M 1/18
F16F 15/00
G01P 15/08
H05K 7/14
H01H 35/14
Abstract:
As mobile computing devices are increasingly expected to be smaller, thinner, and/or lighter, less space is available for incorporating such structurally stiff perimeter components, as well as energy-absorbing components. The electroactive perimeter stiffening devices, systems, and methods described herein detect a free-fall event or condition, anticipate a subsequent impact event, and actively stiffen one or more electroactive perimeter stiffeners of an associated mobile computing device in preparation for the impact event. The electroactive perimeter stiffeners direct impact energy away from, and in some cases, distribute and/or dissipate the impact energy, in an effort to prevent damage to impact-sensitive components of the mobile computing device.
