Skills:

(3) Experienced in peptide synthesis, HPLC purification, Maldi-tof Mass spectrometry, and N-terminal protein sequencing. (4) Extensive experience with protein crystals including macromolecular complex, membrane protein crystal, crystallization screening and optimization including membrane protein crystal dehydration and all kinds of seeding techniques (microseeding, macroseeding and streak seeding), cryotechniques, and single crystal spectrometry. (5) Extensive experience with data collection using both in-house X-ray diffractometer (Rigaku MicroMax-007 with R-axis IV++ detector) and synchrotron beam lines (Swiss Light Source, Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory including remote access, APS, NSLS, and ALS), data processing (HKL2000, IMOSFLM, CCP4i), and use of UNIX/LINUX-base software for data processing. (6) Extensive experience with various software and programs in Protein Crystallography: molecular replacement (MOLREP and PHASER), MAD, SAD and MIR using heavy atom derivatives (BNP, SOLVE, PHENIX, SHARP and CCP4i). (7) Extensive experience with structure refinement (Refmac5, CNS), structure validation and deposition, and use of relative software including COOT, PyMol, O, Moleman2, etc. (8) Supervised the work of multiple undergraduate research assistants at NTU, including training in laboratory safety, basic biochemical techniques, protein purification and crystallization. (9) Assisted in grant proposal writing at NTU and Scripps; manuscript preparation at NTU, Scripps and Yale.
