About:
I'm SURE if I wouldn't be so into gaming I would do some great things... And I really hate myself for that... I can't get out of this, really... Not MMOs, but I can't live without PC anymore... Yeah I...
Bragging Rights:
I've noticed some talk about people leaving mmo's at some point in the future and not playing them forever or how much and how often and having no life etc and it got me to thinking, why are so many gamers so apologetic about gaming? I'm not sure I understand and especially from fellow gamers why gaming is considered such a waste of time, you see it all the time in gaming forums ...I only play when the weather is bad and I can't go out and shoot hoops or whatever blah blah there is nothing particularly noble about heading off out for a round of golf / watching the game / kicking a ball around / catching a movie or sitting watching trains enter and leave a station etc and doesn't seeing it as a huge waste of time feed into the myth about the lone teenage male gamer sitting in his room with no friends and no life who is socially inept and a sad soul indeed hence is forced to spend his life in some alternate reality? So a few people take it too far, play for too long, get carried away and kill someone over an online weapon etc............ well people do stupid things all the time for all sorts of stupid reasons So why oh why has gaming become the new AA? I have a friend who spends a ridiculous amount of time in the pub, much to the despair of his family - but he's just social right? I have another who almost lives at the gym, bodybuilding is his new religion, but he's just a keep fit nut right? are they really more righteous?
