Nominated for Graduating Senior Leadership Award
Professor Allison Schuette
The nomination was based on my success with the VU Alliance. Most of our members were underclassmen who typically would have been considered at risk for transferring or dropping out of VU. By building up the organizations presence on campus I like to think that I made a positive impact making VU feel more like home for all its students.
Office of Multi-Cultural Programming: Best Programs 08-09
Dr. Jane Bello Brunson
The OMCP recognizes the accomplishments of the students belonging to its various groups every year with a end of term award ceremony. Alliance had only been apart of the OMCP for less an one academic year, yet we took home its top prize for our work in consistently organizing and holding well attended, well received, and meaningful programs. I was also nominated for the Senior of the Year Award by my VP and Secretary.
Freshman Program of the Year 07-08: Creativity on Campus
Stacy Oliver
The award was in recognition for an event I had organized in the previous semester. The event, Creativity on Campus, was designed to help introduce the freshman class to the various literary societies and organizations on campus. Information was given about how to properly write papers for the required freshman english course, how to submit to the student literary publication, and how to utilize the resources of the on campus Writing Center.
Outstanding Male Programming RA of the Year 2006-2007
Stacy Oliver
The award was in recognition for my efforts all year long to consistently organize and present the best student programs in my residential hall.
