Methods And Tools For Evaluating A Mixture Of Turfgrass Seeds

US Patent:
2009010, Apr 23, 2009
Filed:
Oct 22, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/876022
Inventors:
Bruce A. Jump - Grabill IN, US
Leah Brilman - Corvallis OR, US
Assignee:
Land O'Lakes, Inc. - Arden Hills MN
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
US Classification:
707100
Abstract:
One embodiment of a method for evaluating a mixture of turfgrass seed includes storing turfgrass seed information in a database (e.g., a computer readable storage medium). A user provides computer input indicative of a mixture of turfgrass seeds Information related to the indicated mixture is retrieved from the database. Based at least in part on the retrieved data, a user interface is created and presented to the user. In one embodiment, the user interface is a graph format display that enables the user to directly compare characteristics of the indicated mixture with characteristics of one or more different mixtures.

Systems And Methods For Reporting Performance Of Agricultural Inputs

US Patent:
2021003, Feb 4, 2021
Filed:
Aug 2, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/530347
Inventors:
- Shoreview MN, US
Bruce A. Jump - Grabill IN, US
International Classification:
G01N 33/00
A01C 21/00
A01G 25/16
A01G 3/00
G06Q 50/02
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for reporting performance of an agricultural input for a plant involves: storing in a computer database a set of agricultural inputs, plants for which the agricultural inputs are used, performance attributes of the agricultural inputs, historical agricultural input performance values, and a relative significance of each of the agricultural inputs for the performance attribute. A computer processor is used to receive a plant selection; receive an attribute to be targeted for the plant selection; identify a plurality of agricultural inputs for affecting the targeted attribute for the plant using the historical agricultural input performance values; rank the plurality of agricultural inputs for affecting the targeted attribute for the selected plant using the relative significance associated therewith; and display the plurality of agricultural inputs and corresponding ranks for the received attribute associated with the selected plant.

Systems And Methods For Predicting Regional Turfgrass Performance

US Patent:
2015027, Oct 1, 2015
Filed:
Jun 16, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/740846
Inventors:
- Arden Hills MN, US
Bruce A. Jump - Grabill IN, US
International Classification:
G06Q 50/02
A01G 1/00
Abstract:
Grass seed performance may be predicted by receiving grass seed selections for individual grass seed varieties and target geographic regions for growing the grass seed selection. A common set of grass attributes is identified from historical grass attribute values associated with the selected target regions. The historical grass attribute values in the first common set of grass attributes are retrieved and are displayed in a graphical format for the at least two individual grass seed varieties in the at least two selected target regions. A weighted average may be calculated for the historical grass attribute values in the common set and may provide a prediction of performance of the individual grass seed varieties across the selected geographic regions or in regions proximate the selected geographic regions.
