Abstract:
An integrated bandaging system for encircling the abdomen of a horse. A ventral access opening selectively provides access to the horse's abdomen while the bandage remains in place. This ventral access opening is normally covered by a ventral window cover. However, the window cover may be easily opened so that an old dressing can be removed, an abdominal wound can be cleaned, and a new dressing applied. The invention has four major components: a main wrap, a saddle bridge, a ventral window cover, and a brace. The main wrap is easily placed around the horse's abdomen and secured using VELCRO fasteners. It includes the ventral access opening. The saddle bridge attaches over the top of the main wrap and adjustably applies tension to the horse's mid section. The ventral window cover attaches over the ventral access opening and provides further adjustment of the tension on the abdomen. The brace applies over the points of the horse's shoulders, between the front legs, and over the ventral chest region.

Dispenser System With Seal On Sliding Door

US Patent:
7694816, Apr 13, 2010
Filed:
Jan 5, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/650091
Inventors:
Bryan E. Kilbey - DeFuniak Springs FL, US
Bruce Parker - Charlotte NC, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/06
US Classification:
206440, 206 53, 206409, 220212
Abstract:
A dispenser system having an integral sealing mechanism for resealing a severed end of a moisture-activated medical bandaging product. A sliding door closes the front of the dispenser system. The sliding door is raised and lowered by a handle preferably having a mechanical advantage. When raised, the sliding door's lower extreme defines a dispensing opening with the bottom of the box. A length of medical bandaging product can be pulled through this opening. When a user closes the door, the door's bottom extreme forms a tang and clevis interface which pinches the sleeve of the medical bandaging product and thereby form a moisture proof seal.

Shoulder Restraint

US Patent:
5290218, Mar 1, 1994
Filed:
Nov 19, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/978993
Inventors:
Bryan Kilbey - DeFuniak Springs FL
Assignee:
Professional Products, Inc. - DeFuniak Springs FL
International Classification:
A61F 500
A61F 537
A61B 1900
US Classification:
602 4
Abstract:
This invention pertains to a shoulder restraint having a series of pockets therein that is wrapped around the user's shoulder to apply hot or cold packs to the affected area. This restraint comprises a main body portion and two extensions, one short and one long, extending from the same side of the main body portion. Each extension is secured to the main body portion (after being wrapped around the user's body part) by closure means that comprise the "hook" portion of a typical hook and loop closure system. The pockets are closed in a similar manner to retain the hot or cold packs therein, and to provide a means to remove and/or replace these packs without the need to remove the restraint.
