Display Assembly Having Flexible Transistors On A Flexible Substrate

US Patent:
6885032, Apr 26, 2005
Filed:
Nov 20, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/300514
Inventors:
Charles Forbes - Edgewater NJ, US
Alexander Gelbman - West Orange NJ, US
Christopher Turner - Belmont MA, US
Sigurd Wagner - Princeton NJ, US
Assignee:
Visible Tech-Knowledgy, Inc. - West Orange NJ
International Classification:
H01L029/04
US Classification:
257 72, 349112, 349113
Abstract:
A thin film transistor array fabricated on a polyimide substrate forms a backplane for an electronic display. The thin film transistor array incorporates gate electrodes, a gate insulating layer, semiconducting channel layers deposited on top of the gate insulating layer, a source electrode, a drain electrode and a contact layer beneath each of the source and drain electrodes and in contact with at least the channel layer. An insulating encapsulation layer is positioned on the channel layer. The layers are deposited onto the polyimide substrate using PECVD and etched using photolithography to form the backplane.

Sulfalkylation Of Hydroxyethylated Polybenzimidazole Polymers

US Patent:
4997892, Mar 5, 1991
Filed:
Nov 13, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/441019
Inventors:
Michael J. Sansone - Berkeley Heights NJ
Balaram Gupta - North Plainfield NJ
Charles E. Forbes - Florham Park NJ
Mark S. Kwiatek - Union NJ
Assignee:
Hoechst Celanese Corp. - Somerville NJ
International Classification:
C08G 7318
US Classification:
525435
Abstract:
A sulfoalkyl derivative of N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole is disclosed, produced by the reaction of an N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole anion with a sultone. The N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole polymer is first reacted with an alkali hydride to produce the anion of N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole. The N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole anion is then reacted with the sultone to produce a sulfoalkyl derivative of the N-substituted hydroxyethylated polybenzimidazole polymer. These derivatives find great use as ion exchange devices.

High Temperature, High Humidity Stabilization Process For Optical Information Storage Media Containing Polycarbonate Substrates

US Patent:
5096742, Mar 17, 1992
Filed:
Jan 9, 1990
