Pluggable Optical Transceiver With Sliding Actuator

US Patent:
7033191, Apr 25, 2006
Filed:
Jul 6, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/160728
Inventors:
Chi Hung Cao - North Hollywood CA, US
Assignee:
Optical Communication Products, Inc. - Woodland Hills CA
International Classification:
H01R 13/62
US Classification:
439160, 439157
Abstract:
A pluggable optical transceiver module includes a housing with first and second ends, upper and lower surfaces, a channel and an opening slot formed thereon. A locking boss is slidably mounted within the housing and has a locking detent projecting therefrom and through the opening slot of the housing to engage an opening in a latching tab located in a receptacle cage. The locking boss also has a top end with an inclined surface, which is disposed within the channel of the housing. An actuator arm is slidably mounted within the channel of the housing and has an internal end with an inclined surface thereon. The inclined surface of the actuator arm cooperates with the inclined surface of the of the locking boss to free the locking detent from the latching tab of the receptacle cage when the actuator arm is moved within the channel of the housing.

Pluggable Optical Transceiver With Pivtoing Release Actuator

US Patent:
2003019, Oct 23, 2003
Filed:
Mar 25, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/249232
Inventors:
Chi Cao - North Hollywood CA, US
Assignee:
OPTICAL COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS, INC. - Chatsworth CA
International Classification:
H05K007/00
US Classification:
361/728000
Abstract:
A pluggable optical transceiver having a pivotable actuator assembly for quickly and easily removing the transceiver from a receptacle cage assembly is provided. The actuator assembly includes a slide member, actuator means, and spring means. The rotation of the actuator causes the transceiver to become disengaged from the receptacle. In this manner, the transceiver is released and can be removed easily from the receptacle.

Retractable Housing For A Sensing System And A Method Of Use

US Patent:
2020001, Jan 16, 2020
Filed:
Jul 10, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/031938
Inventors:
- Gardena CA, US
Chi Hung CAO - Huntington Beach CA, US
International Classification:
G01S 7/481
B60R 11/00
G01S 17/93
Abstract:
An electronics housing assembly is disclosed. In some embodiments, the electronics housing is attached to a vehicle to house a sensor of the vehicle (e.g., a LIDAR). The electronics housing includes a fixed body structure, a movable body structure, a motor operatively coupled to the movable body structure, a positioner sensor coupled to the fixed body structure, and a sensor bracket attached to the movable body structure and configured to attach to a sensor. In some embodiments, the positioner sensor is used to detect the position of the movable body structure and the sensor.

Electric Seatbelt Notification Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2018005, Feb 22, 2018
Filed:
Aug 22, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/242735
Inventors:
- Gardena CA, US
Chi Hung CAO - Huntington Beach CA, US
Assignee:
Faraday&Future Inc. - Gardena CA
International Classification:
B60R 22/48
B60R 21/0136
B60R 22/46
Abstract:
An electric seatbelt notification system may include an electric seatbelt configured to restrain the occupant in the vehicle, the electric seatbelt including one or more motors. The notification system may include a controller coupled to the electric seatbelt. The controller may be configured to detect a vehicle event and determine the tactual notification corresponding to the vehicle event. The controller may be further configured to generate a control signal to actuate the one or more motors of the electric seatbelt, and provide the tactual notification using the electric seatbelt to notify the occupant of the vehicle event. The tactual notification may be progressively stronger as the vehicle event persists.

Charging Connection For An Electric Vehicle

US Patent:
2017029, Oct 19, 2017
Filed:
Apr 18, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/490820
Inventors:
- Gardena CA, US
Chi Hung Cao - Huntington Beach CA, US
Skyler R. Lund - La Crescenta CA, US
International Classification:
B60L 11/18
H02J 50/10
B60L 11/18
H04B 5/00
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a plugless and socketless charging connection for an electric vehicle. In some aspects, a conductive path is disposed in an exterior vehicle component. The conductive path may appear to be part of a door, fender, emblem, and the like. Current, sufficient to charge one or more batteries within the vehicle may pass through the conductive path. In some aspects, a charge port is also disposed within the vehicle. The charge port may be movable from at least a first position spaced away from the conductive path to a second position in contact with at least a portion of the conductive path.

Electric Vehicle Charge Port

US Patent:
2017025, Sep 14, 2017
Filed:
Mar 8, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/064462
Inventors:
- Gardena CA, US
Chi Hung Cao - Huntington Beach CA, US
International Classification:
B60L 11/18
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are movable charge port systems for electric vehicles. An electric vehicle may include a charge port capable of coupling with and receiving electrical power from a charging station. The charge port may be movably secured in a concealed position and configured to move from the concealed position to an exposed position to enable the charge port to couple with the charging station. The vehicle may include a motor configured to move the charge port from the concealed position to the exposed position and processing circuitry configured to command the motor to move the charge port. The charge port may be exposed automatically in response to detecting the presence of a charging station nearby.

Shaft To Shaft Screw-Less Coupling

US Patent:
2017026, Sep 14, 2017
Filed:
Apr 20, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/134154
Inventors:
- Gardena CA, US
Chi Hung Cao - Huntington Beach CA, US
International Classification:
F16D 1/10
F16D 1/02
Abstract:
Certain aspects relate to shaft-to-shaft D-to-polygon connectors. The connector can have an interior channel with a “D-shaped” cross section to form a friction fit with an output shaft of a motor having a corresponding outer D-shape. The outer shape of the connector can be hexagonal, square, triple square, 12-point, or D-shaped. As such, when the connector is fit within a correspondingly shaped channel of another shaft or mechanical body, the torque from the motor is transmitted to the other shaft or mechanical body without the need for set screws.
