Document Creation Through Embedded Speech Recognition

US Patent:
7006968, Feb 28, 2006
Filed:
Oct 11, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/976534
Inventors:
Corey J. Norris - Meridian ID, US
Steve R. Wiley - Boise ID, US
Assignee:
Hewlett-Packard Development Company L.P. - Houston TX
International Classification:
G10L 15/00
US Classification:
704235, 704275
Abstract:
Audio data is captured, then filtered to extract text data and print commands. The audio data is captured by sensing the audio data, generating an analog audio data signal in response to the sensed audio data, and digitizing the analog audio data signal into captured audio data. The text data is converted to electronic text. The electronic text is accumulated in a text buffer. Audio data is captured and filtered to extract text data and print comments until a print command is extracted from the audio data. When a print command is extracted from the audio data, the accumulated electronic text is translated into a rendered document. The electronic text is either translated alone or with a form template. The rendered document is printed and the text buffer is purged.

Method For Building A Peripheral Information Database

US Patent:
2002019, Dec 19, 2002
Filed:
Jun 4, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/874791
Inventors:
Abraham Alsop - Boise ID, US
Brian McKinley - Boise ID, US
Catherine Markle - Boise ID, US
Corey Norris - Boise ID, US
International Classification:
G06F007/00
US Classification:
707/010000
Abstract:
A novel method for building a computer peripheral information database for a plurality of peripherals operably connected to a network for sharing between a plurality of users provides a valuable tool for network management and administration. A preferred embodiment of the method is for use with networked printers. Configuration data for the printers is input by at least one user, and printer usage data is obtained by repeated queries over the network to the printers. The information database will contain printer duty cycle and cost data for each of the printers.

Embedded Payment For Mobile Printing

US Patent:
2003007, Apr 17, 2003
Filed:
Oct 11, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/976533
Inventors:
Corey Norris - Meridian ID, US
International Classification:
G06F017/60
US Classification:
705/017000, 705/020000, 705/039000
Abstract:
An electronic document is transferred to print media in exchange for payment. Payment account information is discovered. The payment account information is discovered either by reading the payment account information from an encoded magnetic strip or an optical strip or by receiving a transmission including the payment account information. The payment account information is optionally verified. Either after receiving the payment account information or after verifying the payment account information, the output apparatus is activated to accept and output the electronic document. Either after discovering the payment account information, verifying the payment account information, or activating the output apparatus, an electronic document is accepted. The electronic document is transferred to print media. A price is determined for accepting the electronic document and transferring the electronic document to print media. A payment transaction is executed with the payment information, at the determined price.

Method And Apparatus For Identifying Facilities With Compatible Services

US Patent:
2003008, May 8, 2003
Filed:
Nov 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/007533
Inventors:
James Clough - Meridian ID, US
Corey Norris - Meridian ID, US
Darrel Cherry - Meridian ID, US
International Classification:
G06F017/60
US Classification:

A request is received to locate a facility, such as a lodging facility, that has a particular computer-related service. The computer-related service may be a printer in a guest room at a hotel or an Internet connection in a guest room. A server identifies at least one facility having the requested computer-related service and communicates the identified facility to a source of the request.
