Refill Control Mechanism For A Liquid Holding Tank

US Patent:
7814930, Oct 19, 2010
Filed:
Sep 29, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/540209
Inventors:
Richard J. Shepherd - Cape Coral FL, US
Daniel A. Klein - Middleton WI, US
Assignee:
Action Manufacturing & Supply, Inc. - Cape Coral FL
International Classification:
F16K 31/18
US Classification:
137413, 137397, 137426
Abstract:
A liquid refill control for a holding tank includes a pneumatic solenoid valve for delivering liquid to the tank in an open state and restricting delivery of the liquid to the tank in a closed state. The solenoid valve has a pneumatic exhaust. A container mounted in the tank includes an inlet for introducing liquid from the tank into the container and an outlet formed below the inlet. A discharge valve is operably mounted to the tank for alternately closing and opening the outlet. A lower float closes the discharge valve when the liquid is at or above a predetermined level in the tank and opens the discharge valve when the liquid is below the predetermined level to discharge liquid from the container. A pneumatic exhaust valve alternately opens and closes the pneumatic exhaust which in turn changes the state of the pneumatic solenoid valve. An upper float mounted in the container maintains the pneumatic exhaust valve in one of the open and closed conditions when the liquid in the container is at or above a threshold level and maintains that valve in the other condition when the liquid in the container is below the threshold level.

Biodegradable Alkaline Disinfectant Cleaner With Analyzable Surfactant

Inventors:
Christopher C. Heisig - St. Louis MO, US
Shahin Keller - St. Louis MO, US
John Macauley - Golden Eagle IL, US
Gurusamy Manivannan - St. Charles MO, US
Daniel Klein - Shiloh IL, US
Michael Ebers - O Fallon MO, US
Assignee:
American Sterilizer Company - Mentor OH
International Classification:
C11D 1/825
C11D 7/06
C11D 3/33
US Classification:
510422, 510225, 510228, 510238, 510252, 510356, 510365, 510421, 510480
Abstract:
An aqueous, alkaline cleaning composition for use on hard-to-clean soils, encountered in pharmaceutical, personal care, food and cosmetic manufacturing, comprising a source of alkalinity, a biodegradable surfactant system further comprising one or more surfactants, one or more hydrotropes, and a UV-analyzable surfactant, and a biodegradable chelating agent. The composition offers unique advantages of stability over the expected shelf life, low-foaming property, phosphate-free and biodegradable components, and unexpectedly enhanced antimicrobial, including virucidal, activity in one cleaning composition. The UV-analyzable surfactant allows for validation of cleaning processes using known techniques for manufacturers who are required or desire to do so.

Enhanced Activity Alcohol-Based Antimicrobial Compositions

US Patent:
7985773, Jul 26, 2011
Filed:
May 17, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/804107
Inventors:
Zachariah C. Greten - Shiloh IL, US
Daniel A. Klein - Shiloh IL, US
Assignee:
American Sterilizer Company - Mentor OH
International Classification:

US Classification:
514551, 424405, 424406, 514613, 514642, 514724, 514730
Abstract:
Antimicrobial compositions which can be used wherever disinfecting compositions are needed, such as in a hospital, healthcare industry, workplace, recreational facility, home or similar environment. The antimicrobial compositions are particularly useful as a topical application for a substrate, such as skin and can be used as a hand sanitizer or pre-surgical scrub. The compositions comprise a synergistic combination of a simple aliphatic alcohol and an activity enhancing substance, wherein the composition provides, heretofore unexpected, persistent activity against a broad range of microorganisms, including gram-negative organisms, while moisturizing the skin.
