Valve And Seat With Seal

US Patent:
2021023, Aug 5, 2021
Filed:
May 3, 2019
Appl. No.:
17/052640
Inventors:
Daniel K. Zitting - St. George UT, US
International Classification:
F04B 53/10
F16K 1/38
F16K 1/42
F16K 1/46
Abstract:
A valve and seat set has a seal coupled to the valve body, the seal surface comprising irregularities to allow pressure to propagate in-between the mating surfaces when pressure from the inside of the valve is equal to, or greater than, pressure from the outside of the valve. This allows the seal to lift in response to minimal differential pressure in the intended flow direction (from inside the valve), while effectively sealing pressure in the reverse direction (from outside the valve).

Press-In Retainer Ring

US Patent:
2019011, Apr 18, 2019
Filed:
Oct 18, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/164646
Inventors:
Thomas Paul Zitting - Salt Lake City UT, US
Daniel K. Zitting - St. George UT, US
International Classification:
F16J 15/3248
Abstract:
A continuous length of formed metal retaining material can be cut to the partial or full circumference or perimeter of at least one assembly component and disposed in a groove of at least one assembly component to form a retaining ring engaging at least one other assembly component. The retaining ring prohibits lateral and rotational movement.

Seal And Method Of Manufacturing And/Or Using Same

US Patent:
2016024, Aug 25, 2016
Filed:

International Classification:
F16J 9/10
B23P 15/08
F16J 9/12
Abstract:
A seal and method of manufacturing same that provides increased service life and is preferably configured to provide both a dynamic seal and a static seal while demonstrating improved rigidity.

Pressure Regulating Seal

US Patent:
2011001, Jan 20, 2011
Filed:
Mar 10, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/921725
Inventors:
Daniel K. Zitting - St. George UT, US
Assignee:
SKF POLYSEAL INC. - Salt Lake City UT
International Classification:
F16J 15/16
US Classification:
277500
Abstract:
Seals and apparatuses incorporating seals are provided. In one embodiment an apparatus is provided including two relatively machine elements, the first machine () element having a gland () formed therein. The gland has a first axial wall, a second axial wall and a radial wall disposed therebetween. The apparatus further includes a sealing ring () disposed at least partially within the gland, the sealing ring having a radially inner face () in contact with the first machine elements, a radially outer face (), a first axial face (), a second axial face () spaced apart from the first axial face, an angled face () extending between the first axial face and the radially outer face, and at least one channel () formed in the angled face and extending from the first axial face to the radially outer face. A loading ring () is configured to maintain contact with the angled face of the sealing ring, the first axial wall of the gland and the radial wall of the gland.

Composite Seals, Seal Structures And Related Methods

US Patent:
2007021, Sep 20, 2007
Filed:
Mar 14, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/375688
Inventors:
Daniel Zitting - St. George UT, US
Tadd McBride - Riverton UT, US
A. Hagen - Murray UT, US
International Classification:
F16J 15/32
US Classification:
277567000, 277530000
Abstract:
A composite seal including multiple seal elements is disclosed along with corresponding methods and seal structures. In one embodiment, the composite seal may include a first, substantially annular seal element having an upper body portion, a neck portion, and an axial protrusion. The upper body portion includes opposing inclined surfaces extending toward the neck portion defining a first angle. The axial protrusion includes opposing inclined surfaces extending towards an axial end of the axial protrusion defining a second angle, wherein the first angle and the second angle are substantially similar. The composite seal may further include a second, substantially annular seal element having a mouth portion, a neck portion and a recess portion, wherein the axial protrusion is configured to be complementarily engaged with the recess portion in an interlocking manner.

Sleeve Element Having A Biasable End Region, Apparatus Including Same, And Method Of Use

US Patent:
2005015, Jul 21, 2005
Filed:
Jan 15, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/757774
