The John Havlis Scholarship Fund was established by the Class of 1983 to honor their classmate after his untimely death in 1992. This award, a complete set of the North Dakota Century Code, shall be presented annually to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a present intention to maintain a rural practice within the State of North Dakota, who demonstrates a high moral character and potential to succeed within the law profession, and who is actively involved in the community, with a particular emphasis on social concerns. Consideration shall be given to scholastic achievement and financial need, but these shall not be over-riding criteria.
