Abstract:
An applications software and method for authoring and communicating multimedia content in a multimedia object communication and handling platform. The applications software includes a Document Type Definition (DTD) and an Extensible Markup Language (XML) document created according to the DTD. The XML document describes multimedia content and the behavior of the content in a dynamic multimedia communication. A player is adapted for reading the DTD and processing the XML document for playback of the content within the multimedia object communication and handling platform.

Abstract:
One embodiment of a method is described for deploying a web widget, intended for use inside a web browser, in a desktop widget platform by way of a widget template modified to load the content of the web widget. The widget template is created according to the development specification of a specific desktop widget platform using generic properties and a placeholder in the source code for displaying HTML content. For any particular web widget, the generic properties of the template are modified to reflect the specific properties inferred by the web widget snippet, the placeholder is replaced with the snippet, and the resulting modified widget template is prepared for installation into the desktop widget platform where it will be deployed as a desktop widget. Other embodiments are described and presented.

Abstract:
Identification technology, in which a request related to generating conveyable information for a particular vendor is received based on user input provided by a particular user and mappings stored in a database are searched using an identifier associated with the particular vendor. At least one rule useful in generating conveyable information for the particular vendor is determined based on results of the searching and identification information for a type of conveyable information requested by the particular user is determined. Conveyable information is generated by applying the determined at least one rule to the determined identification information. A mobile device outputs the generated conveyable information to enable identification of the type of conveyable information requested by the particular user to a system of the particular vendor through the output of the mobile device.
