I love the real estate business, and what it lets me do every day. I have become a short sale expert, handle foreclosure inventory daily, and market homes at all price points, with particular success in upper bracket marketing. I am a 25 year resident of the City of Chicago. In past lives I have been a construction contractor, renovator and small business owner, a student earning a B.A Michigan State University in 1978 with a Major in American Literature with a Minor in Economics and an Aspen, Colorado Ski bum. In 1994 I became a real estate salesperson and an Illinois Real Estate Broker licensee in 1998. My educational pursuits continue with Lessons of Life (in degree program). No completion date at this time. I have belonged to the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR) as a member since 1995. I joined the CAR Board of Directors in 2005. Other CAR positions and committees: Treasurer (2007), President Elect and President (2008-2009), Audit (charter committee member), Finance (Chair) , Lending, Cultural Diversity and Governmental Affairs Committees. 2011 Chair CAR Awards Committee. Led CAR involvement with Mr. Steven Baird in resolving the MAP/MLSNI merger negotiations (2006-2007). I have received: 2008 CAR President’s Award 2009 CAR Realtor of the Year I am the CAR Public service spokesperson on Newsradio 780 WBBM. I serve the Illinois Association of Realtors (IAR) Board of Directors (2007- present). Executive Committee 2009 – present) 2009 and 2010 Big Broker Council (Chair), Public Policy, Business Issues and License Law, Nominating (2008) Committees. IAR Strategic Thinkers Work Group 2009- present. 2009 IAR Presidential Service Award. I also serve as the National Association of Realtors Federal Policy Coordinator for Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL 5th), and as National Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors 2007-Present. Local Issues (2009) Conventional Lending (2009-2011) and Public Policy (2009-2011) Committees. I was a volunteer diver at the John G. Shedd Aquarium from 1997-2010. I have served as a past member of the Board of Directors of Chicago Sinai Congregation and was a founding member and officer of (2) local neighborhood organizations. I have owned and / or managed independent and franchise real estate brokerages large (Prudential Preferred Properties (2004-2007, 400 agents) medium ( Source One Realty 120 agents) and small (Realty Executives Source One and Realty Executives Service (2010, 35 agents). I enjoy the day to day aspects of my business now more than ever. I do all of this for my wonderful wife, four children, assorted pets and a stable full of horses and ponies.
