In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes identifying and transmitting a sequence of frames in a digital video transmission, the sequence of frames comprising an initial frame and subsequent frames corresponding to the initial frame, the subsequent frames comprising data that incrementally updates the initial frame, and initiating a new transmission of the sequence of frames to a new device after sending one of the subsequent frames in the digital media transmission, the initiating comprising generating information to cause the new device to inhibit presenting the new transmission until after frames between and including the initial frame and the one of the subsequent frames have been received by the new device, and transmitting, to the new device, the information and the frames between and including the initial frame and the one of the subsequent frames.

Inverter-rectifier combinations of the type which include at least a pair of transistors for alternately applying DC current to a transformer to generate alternating voltage from a DC source, and a digital semiconductor type driving means for alternately providing voltage pulses of given duration and at a periodic repetition rate at each of two outputs for controlling such alternating operation of the transistors is improved in a combination containing a protective circuit located in between the driving circuit and the inputs to the inverter transistors. The protective circuit contains first and second inputs and corresponding first and second outputs with the inputs being connected to an associated one of the two driving means outputs, and the outputs being connected to an associated one of the two inverter transistors; cross-gating means, including linear semiconductor switch means, for producing a driving output pulse on a one of the outputs responsive to the presence of a voltage pulse at an associated one of said inputs and only during the absence of a voltage pulse at the other one of said inputs; and delay means for inhibiting the application of said driving output pulse at a one of said circuit outputs until the lapse of a predetermined interval of time subsequent to the termination of application of a driving output pulse to the other one of said circuit outputs, the predetermined time interval being at least as great as the defined charge storage time of the inverter transistors and less than half the duration preferably of the pulses supplied by the digital control circuit; whereby the inverter transistors are not driven into overlapping operation.

The DC to DC converter contains a transformer, having a primary and a secondary winding and a predetermined leakage reactance existing between the primary and the secondary winding. A rectifier circuit is connected to the secondary and a large filter capacitance is connected to the rectifier to form an output across the filter capacitor adapted for connection to a load. A pair of electronic switches are connected across the input to the converter in series with the primary. A capacitor is included in series with the primary and voltage clamping diodes are coupled to the capacitor to prevent voltage across same from exceeding the input voltage level. Pulse generating means coupled to the load, monitor the load voltage level and provide suitable pulses alternately to said electronic switches so as to cause same to alternately conduct current through the capacitor and through the primary. Suitably the capacitive reactance of the capacitance bears a proper relationship to the leakage reactance of each secondary to effect a half sinusoid shaped current waveform through the primary during the operation of each switch. And as a function of the load voltage the periodicity of the pulses applied to the switches by the pulse generating means is increased or decreased.
