A composition comprising a dye fixing agent, a N-heterocyclic polymer, and a nonionic surfactant is described which provides improved fabric color care upon laundry treatment. A method of use is also described in conjunction with a detergent or in a presoak.

Automatic Dispensing Device For Laundry Care Composition

US Patent:
7398787, Jul 15, 2008
Filed:
Oct 18, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/967870
Inventors:
Feng-Lung Gordon Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Sudhakar Puvvada - Upton, GB
Ronald Frederick Vogel - New York NY, US
Diane Wolf - Bridgewater NJ, US
Gary Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Assignee:
Unilever Home & Personal Care USA division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
B08B 3/02
US Classification:
134 56R, 134 941, 134113
Abstract:
A non-intrusive device for automatically dosing at least one liquid laundry care composition to an automatic laundry washing machine. The device employs a Venturi tube mechanism or a pump to dose the laundry detergent care composition. The dosing is controlled by a machine-generic algorithm capable of determining the actual cycle at any duration of wash for various cycle designs from various washing machines, without the input of precise cycle design; and dose the correct products correctly and is capable of distinguishing between major water addition and a water pulse.

Multiuse Fabric Care Article And Method

US Patent:
7405191, Jul 29, 2008
Filed:
May 15, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/748517
Inventors:
Yun Peng Zhu - Fair Lawn NJ, US
Feng-Lung Gordon Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Diane Wolf - Bridgewater NJ, US
Assignee:
Unilever Home & Personal Care USA Division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
C11D 17/04
US Classification:
510519
Abstract:
A fabric care article made of solid or semi-solid matrix of materials for repetitive or multiple use in a machine drying apparatus such as a tumble dryer. The matrix includes a structuring agent comprising a filler structuring agent and a polymeric structuring agent. The filler structuring agent comprises about 0. 2 % to about 10% and the polymeric structuring agent comprises about 0. 5 to about 20% by weight of the composition. The matrix further includes up to about 25% of an anionic soap surfactant, about 10% to about 60% of free fatty acid, and about 1% to about 50% of a non-ionic, but is substantially free from cationic surfactant. When the fabric care article is used up, it simply disappears, indicating to a user that the article needs to be replenished.

Isotropic Liquids Comprising Hydrophobically Modified Polar Polymer

US Patent:
5723434, Mar 3, 1998
Filed:
Jan 25, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/591789
Inventors:
Nancy Ann Falk - Livingston NJ
Barbara Bory - Fort Lee NJ
Tamara Padron - North Bergen NJ
Tirucherai Varahan Vasudevan - West Orange NJ
Diane Wolf - Bridgewater NJ
Jeanie Lum - Flushing NY
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 337
C11D 1700
US Classification:
510475
Abstract:
Isotropic liquid detergent composition comprises specific soil antiredeposition polymers containing a hydrophilic backbone and monomer with hydrophobic side chains. When the molar ratio of the number hydrophilic groups to number of hydrophobic groups on said polymers is below certain critical levels, it has been unexpectedly found that the stability (i. e. , clarity) of the composition remarkably increases. The solubility of the polymer is further dependent on the type and amount (minimum required) of hydrotrope; surfactant type and levels; and minimum electrolyte levels.

Isotropic Liquids Comprising Hydrophobically Modified Polar Polymers Plus Aliphatic Hydrocarbon Oils

US Patent:
5719117, Feb 17, 1998
Filed:
Jan 25, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/591058
Inventors:
Nancy Ann Falk - Livingston NJ
Barbara Bory - Fort Lee NJ
Leslie Jo Morgan - Chatham NJ
Tamara Padron - North Bergen NJ
Tirucherai Varahan Vasudevan - West Orange NJ
Diane Wolf - Bridgewater NJ
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 337
C11D 1700
US Classification:
510475
Abstract:
Isotropic liquid detergent composition comprises specific soil antiredeposition polymers containing a hydrophilic backbone and hydrophobic side chain; and aliphatic hydrocarbon oils. When the molar ratio of hydrophilic groups of the backbone to number of hydrophobic groups attached to the backbone is below certain critical levels; and aliphatic hydrocarbon oil of defined molecular weight (MW) range are incorporated in the formulation; it has been unexpectedly found that the stability (i. e. , clarity) of the composition remarkably increases in such oil containing compositions.
