Method And Apparatus For Communicating Product Notices Through Digital Broadcasting

US Patent:
2006026, Nov 23, 2006
Filed:
Mar 7, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/371366
Inventors:
Addison Jones - Yorba Linda CA, US
Tzvetelin Petrov - Chino CA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 99/00
US Classification:
705001000
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and several embodiments for issuing and receiving a product notice message by incorporating a product notice message into at least one of a control data stream and a program data stream carried in digital broadcast data stream. This is accomplished by combining at least one of a control data stream and a program data stream into a time-multiplexed data stream, splintering the multiplexed data stream into a plurality of sub-streams, generating a corresponding plurality of modulated carriers according to each of the sub-streams, combining the plurality of modulated carriers into a composite radio frequency signal and then radiating the composite radio frequency signal. In order to receive the signal, the composite radio frequency signal that includes a plurality of modulated carriers is received and each carrier therein is demodulated into a plurality of corresponding data sub-stream. These are then combined into a time-multiplexed, multi-channel data stream. A channel is these selected from at least one of the control channel and the program channel which are typically included in the time-multiplexed, multi-channel data stream. A product notice is extracted from the selected channel and presented to a user.

US Classification:
705001000
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a method and various embodiments thereof for receiving a product notice by means of receiving a component product identifier for one or more components included in an assembly; storing the one or more component product identifiers; receiving a product notice message; extracting a target product identifier from the product notice message; and issuing an indication when the target product identifier is substantially equivalent to at least one of the one or more stored component product identifiers

Method And Apparatus For Receiving Product Recall Notices Using Broadcast Channel

US Patent:
2007021, Sep 13, 2007
Filed:
Dec 4, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/633652
Inventors:
Addison Jones - Yorba Linda CA, US
Tzvetelin Petrov - Chino CA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00
G06Q 30/00
US Classification:
705001000
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and various embodiments thereof for receiving a recall signal by determining a recall signaling frequency; receiving a recall signal on the determined recall signaling frequency; capturing a recall message from the recall signal when the recall message is targeted to at least one of a simple product, a product that is an assembly or a component in a product that is an assembly; notifying a user when a recall message is captured; storing a notice identifier included in the recall message in a substantially permanent manner, wherein the notice identifier is associated with a description of a specific recall campaign, said description being stored remotely from the product or itself being a textual description, a numeric description and alphanumeric description or an audible description.

Method And Apparatus For Transmitting And Receiving Data Using A Phase Or Frequency Modulated Audio Signal

US Patent:
2009018, Jul 16, 2009
Filed:
Sep 13, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/283497
Inventors:
Addison Brooke Jones - Yorba Linda CA, US
International Classification:
H04B 15/00
US Classification:
381 948
Abstract:
A method and system for transmitting and receiving a data stream using a phase or frequency modulated audio signal wherein an audio signal is modulated in at least one of phase and frequency according to the data stream and wherein the modulated audio signal is outside the range of human hearing. The modulated audio signal is combined with an audio program into a composite signal that is used to modulate a carrier. In order to receive the data easily, the audio program is filtered to accommodate the modulated audio signal. During reception, the gain of a detector is controlled by the power level of the recovered data-modulated audio signal. Recovery of the data-modulated audio stream is accomplished by first recovering the composite signal from the modulated carrier and attenuating the audio program so as to isolate the data-modulated audio signal. The isolated data-modulated audio signal is then again demodulated to recover the transmitted data.

Inductive Heating Arrangement For Evaporating Thin Film Alloy Onto A Substrate

US Patent:
4406252, Sep 27, 1983
Filed:
Dec 29, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/220398
Inventors:
Addison B. Jones - Yorba Linda CA
Assignee:
Rockwell International Corporation - El Segundo CA
International Classification:
C23C 1312
US Classification:
118724
Abstract:
The invention is a thin film alloy source utilizing a supply of alloy wire selected for deposition onto a substrate. The wire is advanced through an induction heating means at a controlled rate for evaporation onto the substrate. Detection of the meniscus height or temperature of the end of the wire being evaporated yields a control signal for operating the control wire feed mechanism for advancing the wire at a rate to provide a predetermined coating thickness.

Process For In-Situ Formation Of Niobium-Insulator-Niobium Josephson Tunnel Junction Devices

US Patent:
4432134, Feb 21, 1984
Filed:
May 10, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/376483
Inventors:
Addison B. Jones - Yorba Linda CA
Francis M. Erdmann - Anaheim CA
Assignee:
Rockwell International Corporation - El Segundo CA
International Classification:
H01L 3924
H01L 3922
US Classification:
29578
Abstract:
A method of forming a superconductor-barrier-superconductor junction device by the steps of depositing a first superconductive layer on a substrate, forming a barrier layer on the first superconductive layer and depositing a second superconductive layer on the barrier layer. A layer of photoresist is then deposited over the second superconductive layer and patterned together with the second superconductive layer to form a mesa structure. A dielectric layer is deposited over the mesa structure, and the photoresist layer portion is dissolved thereby lifting off the dielectric portion overlying said second superconductive layer portion.
