Abstract:
A device for aligning a LCD panel having circuit elements with driver circuit card assemblies, consisting of retractable pins located around a central platform. The retractable pins extend in order to receive the LCD panel and circuit element assembly and hold it in place as the circuit elements are aligned with driver circuit card assemblies. Once aligned, the drivers and LCD panel can be bonded together. Once bonded, the pins are retracted and the LCD panel and driver assembly is released. The present invention also relates to a method of aligning LCD panels and drivers using retractable pin tools.

Transportable Carrier Compatable With A Retractable Pin Tool

US Patent:
8561976, Oct 22, 2013
Filed:
Jun 25, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/491963
Inventors:
William Dunn - Alpharetta GA, US
Ware Bedell - Cumming GA, US
Assignee:
American Panel Corporation - Alpharetta GA
International Classification:
H05K 13/00
US Classification:
269287, 269903
Abstract:
A device for providing support to an LCD and its corresponding components during various manufacturing steps. A first carrier section is positioned on a work surface and is then loaded with an LCD as well as drivers to be bonded to the tabs of the LCD. Once the desired work has been performed a second carrier section is mated with the first carrier section and a closing means is utilized to position the two carrier sections in a closed position. Once the two carrier sections have been placed in a closed position about the LCD and other components, the entire piece may be safely removed from its position on the work surface for further processing, storage, etc. Exemplary embodiments also relate to a method of providing support to an LCD and its corresponding components during various manufacturing steps.

System And Method For Selectively Engaging Cooling Fans Within An Electronic Display

US Patent:
8649170, Feb 11, 2014
Filed:
Feb 5, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/759744
Inventors:
Tim Hubbard - Alpharetta GA, US
Ware Bedell - Alpharetta GA, US
Assignee:
Manufacturing Resources International, Inc. - Alpharetta GA
International Classification:
G06F 1/16
H05K 5/00
US Classification:
36167947, 362547, 349161
Abstract:
A system and method for cooling an electronic image assembly having a plurality of cooling gas pathways place behind the electronic image assembly. A first fan may be used to force cooling gas through a first grouping of cooling gas pathways while a second fan may be used to force cooling gas through a second grouping of cooling gas pathways. Temperature sensing devices may be positioned so as to measure the temperature of the first and second groupings of cooling gas pathways. The speeds of the first and second fans may be adjusted based on the temperature measurements of the cooling gas pathway groupings. Additional fans with additional temperature sensing devices may be used for further accuracy and control over the temperature gradients of the electronic image assembly. Manifolds may be used to distribute/collect cooling gas to/from the cooling gas pathways.

System For Thermally Controlling Displays

US Patent:
2009021, Aug 27, 2009
Filed:
Sep 19, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/234182
Inventors:
William Dunn - Alpharetta OH, US
Ware Bedell - Cumming GA, US
Michael LeCave - Gainsville GA, US
Assignee:
MANUFACTURING RESOURCES INTERNATIONAL, INC. - Alpharetta GA
International Classification:
G02F 1/1333
G02F 1/1335
H05K 7/20
US Classification:
349 96, 349122, 349161, 349137, 361705
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments provide a system for thermally controlling an electronic display. A glass substrate containing a pyrolytic electrically conductive layer is utilized. The electrically conductive layer may be used as a passive thermal insulator or may be electrically energized to further heat the glass substrate. The glass may be used with a closed loop plenum which may further heat/cool the display. Additional glass layers may be added in order to polarize light or provide anti-reflective properties.

Electronic Display Assembly With Conductive Cooling And Optional Cooling Air Circulation Loop

US Patent:
2019003, Jan 31, 2019
Filed:
Sep 17, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/132536
Inventors:
- Alpharetta GA, US
Don Le - Alpharetta GA, US
Ware Bedell - Cumming GA, US
International Classification:
H05K 7/20
G02F 1/1335
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an electronic display assembly having a thermally conductive housing and an image assembly. The image assembly is positioned within the thermally conductive housing and behind a transparent plate assembly. An inlet opening and outlet opening are formed by gaps located between opposing edges of the image assembly and the housing. A space between the image assembly and the plate assembly forms a channel. Thermally conductive plates extend from near the image assembly within each of the inlet opening and outlet opening to contact the housing. Heat from the image assembly is conductively transferred to the housing by the thermally conductive plates. A fan may be positioned to circulate cooling air through the channel via the inlet and outlet openings and apertures in the thermally conductive plates.
