Mounting Fixture For Fire-Rated Structurally Glazed Glass

US Patent:
2012006, Mar 22, 2012
Filed:
May 6, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/375192
Inventors:
Dustin D. Swartz - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
E04B 2/88
E04B 1/94
E04B 2/90
US Classification:
52235, 5274512
Abstract:
The system includes a concealed, glazing retention method and system for use with a fire rated structurally glazed curtain wall. In one embodiment, a pressure plate is configured to be coupled to a building structure and positionable between an outer face of the fire rated glazing unit and an inner face of the glass unit. A plurality of retaining members can secure the pressure plate to the building structure.

Top-Hanging Sliding Door Including Bottom Guide And Seal

US Patent:
2022037, Nov 24, 2022
Filed:
Mar 11, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/693147
Inventors:
- Carmel IN, US
Dustin Dale Swartz - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
E06B 7/21
E05D 15/06
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing a drop seal assembly which is concealed within an opening in the bottom of a sliding door panel of a top-hanging sliding door. The drop seal assembly may include bottom guide which defines a downward facing elongated slot or track which receives a sill guide therein. The drop seal assembly also includes a drop down acoustic seal which automatically drops down to contact the floor surface below the door panel when the door panel is moved from an open position into a closed position. The distance that the seal drops down upon closing of the door panel may be selectively adjustable to accommodate variances in the air gap between the door bottom and the floor surface due to particular installation conditions. A concealed magnetic bottom seal activator may be used to provide self-adjusting activation of the door bottom seal assembly using two opposing magnets.

Top-Hanging Sliding Door Including Wedge Design Top Seal

US Patent:
2021010, Apr 8, 2021
Filed:
Mar 14, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/500344
Inventors:
- Everett WA, US
Dustin Dale SWARTZ - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
E05D 15/06
E06B 7/215
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing a door seal system for top-hanging sliding doors. In some implementations, two angled mating surfaces are used, one angled surface on a fixed frame and one reversed angled surface on the slideable door panel. The slideable door panel slides directly parallel to the fixed door frame. A mating seal surface is created that is only in frictional contact for a small portion of the linear slide distance of the door panel. In some implementations, rather than placing two opposing angled seal surfaces, the sealing system has one angled surface on the fixed door frame. In such implementations, the sliding door panel is adjusted to be in a reverse angled orientation relative to the angled surface of the fixed door frame. Seal designs for the rear vertical edge of the slideable door panel are also provided herein.

Sliding Door Systems

US Patent:
2020035, Nov 12, 2020
Filed:
May 6, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/404003
Inventors:
- Carmel IN, US
Jeff Morovich - Everett WA, US
Dustin Swartz - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
E05F 1/16
E05F 5/00
Abstract:
An exemplary closure assembly includes a rail assembly and a door assembly movably mounted to the rail assembly. The door assembly includes a rotary damper having a pinion, and the rail assembly includes a rack member operable to engage the pinion. As the door moves from first position to a second position, the rack member engages the pinion, thereby causing the pinion to rotate in a first rotational direction. The rotary damper resists rotation of the pinion in the first direction, thereby slowing movement of the door toward the second position. The rotary damper may be a one-way damper that does not resist rotation of the pinion in a second rotational direction such that the rotary damper does not resist movement of the door from the second position toward the first position.
