Electrical Connector

US Patent:
4106837, Aug 15, 1978
Filed:
Dec 9, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/749062
Inventors:
Edward S. Paluch - Elmwood Park IL
Assignee:
Reliable Electric Company - Franklin Park IL
International Classification:
H01R 908
US Classification:
339 98
Abstract:
An electrical connector is disclosed comprising a connector block provided with an opening therethrough and an electrically conductive terminal having a portion thereof projecting outwardly of the block at the opening. The electrical terminal is also provided with means in its outwardly projecting part for terminating an electrical conductor thereon. The part of the terminal in the block has opposed side faces having at least two opposed bosses formed thereon for retaining the terminal in the block.

Reusable Terminal Locking Cap

US Patent:
5147219, Sep 15, 1992
Filed:
May 17, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/704708
Inventors:
Alexander G. Gilberts - Barrington Hills IL
Richard Kaczmarek - Chicago IL
Edward S. Paluch - Elmwood Park IL
Thomas G. Volk - Grayslake IL
Assignee:
Reliance Comm/Tec Corporation - Chicago IL
International Classification:
H01R 422
US Classification:
439521
Abstract:
A reusable cap for providing mechanical, electrical and environmental isolation of an electrical terminal. The cap includes a tubular body which has in it an opening for receiving the wire(s) connected to the terminal binding post. The tubular body has a neck. Seated in the neck is the mechanism for engaging the threads of the binding post. The mechanism, which is made of conductive material, is seated in the neck so as to be rotatable without causing rotation of the housing. The cap also includes a removable cover which can be placed over the mechanism. Removing the cover allows the binding post to be accessible through the mechanism for the purposes of testing.

Telephone Distribution Frame Connector Assembly

US Patent:
4037910, Jul 26, 1977
Filed:
Sep 13, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/722426
Inventors:
Edward S. Paluch - Elmwood Park IL
Assignee:
Reliable Electric Company - Franklin Park IL
International Classification:
H01R 900
US Classification:
339198R
Abstract:
A telephone distribution frame connector assembly comprises a connector block with terminals for receiving plug-in type overload protector modules. Incoming line pairs are connected through a cable stub to terminals on the block. Furthermore, terminals on the block are connected to inside central office equipment, the connections being through the overload protector modules. A test field is provided for testing the lines. The test field and the terminals for central office connection are mounted in various novel ways to effect a compact arrangement.

Modular Distribution Frame Assembly

US Patent:
4002856, Jan 11, 1977
Filed:
Jun 27, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/591037
Inventors:
William S. Sedlacek - Chicago IL
Edward S. Paluch - Elmwood Park IL
William Andrew Brey - Schaumburg IL
Assignee:
Reliable Electric Company - Franklin Park IL
International Classification:
H04Q 114
US Classification:
179 98
Abstract:
A modular distribution frame assembly for carrying telephone line terminal and protection blocks in a substantially complete factory-prewired condition. The modular distribution frame has a base for securing to a floor support and a telescopic upper end for securing to an overhead support. The distribution frame assembly has a main vertical open column for receiving the plurality of jumper wires which are used to interconnect incoming subscriber or trunk lines with central office distribution lines. Incoming lines can be introduced into a secondary vertical open column located next to the main open (jumper) column for connection either directly to the appropriate protection or line terminal blocks or to a multiposition connector which has its mating half mounted to and electrically connected to the appropriate protector or line terminal blocks. Central office distribution lines are also connected either directly to the appropriate protector or line terminal blocks or to a multi-position connector which has its mating half mounted to and electrically connected to the appropriate protector or line terminal blocks. Multi-conductor cables with connectors on each end or cables wired directly to the blocks with connectors at one end only can be provided for rapid interconnection between the protector blocks and the appropriate line terminal blocks, or cables wired directly between appropriate blocks.
