Abstract:
An improved tree and pole climber consisting of an inflexible socket member connected to a foam pad member which is designed to receive the shank portions of most commercial tree climbers. The socket member is formed so that the shank of the tree climber can rotate axially, can pivot forwardly and rearwardly in a plane at right angles to the stirrup of the climber and can pivot outwardly from the leg of the climber. The movement of the shank in the inflexible socket permits freedom of movement of the foot and thereby maximizes comfort in wearing the climber and minimizes chafing and injury to the leg of the workperson.

Abstract:
A load handling device for arborists attachable temporarily to a tree trunk for lowering severed tree limbs and main stems including a base having a cross member and a vertical member. An elongated leg protrudes from the cross member and frictionally engages the tree trunk. A cylindrical member is mounted on the vertical member above the elongated tree gripping leg and is positioned with its longitudinal axis generally at right angles to the base member. The rope used to lower the severed tree limb is wrapped about the cylindrical member. An upper flange is connected to the vertical member above the cylindrical member and protrudes from the base a greater distance than the tree gripping leg so that the cylindrical member is tipped with its longitudinal axis at an angle below a horizontal plane. The device is frictionally held to the tree trunk by an elongated flexible member such as a strap. Cinching means mounted on the cross member holds the flexible member securely to the tree.

Abstract:
A device for use by arborists for handling heavy tree limbs and main stems including a base for attachment to the tree trunk and a cylindrical member for receiving a rope mounted on the base. In an alternate form of the invention, the cylindrical member is mounted on an axle which is attached to the base and ratchets permit selective rotation of the cylindrical member in at least one direction. In still another form of the invention, a lever is attached to the cylinder to give an operator great mechanical advantage so that the device may be used to raise heavy loads by turning the cylindrical member.

Abstract:
A tool bit selection device as an accessory for a hand held commercial drill motor is disclosed. The selection device is in the form of a chambered cylinder that is supported on the face of the drill motor. The chambers of the cylinder hold individual tool bits that are adapted to be placed on the driving end of a drive spindle of the drill motor. The support and alignment of the selection device on the drill motor permits the compliance of the tool bit and the drive spindle in pitch, yaw, roll and radial offset. The selection device merely stores and positions the tool bits and does not provide bearing support of the tool bit when in working position.
