Abstract:
An exhaust aftertreatment system includes a housing including at least one exhaust aftertreatment component. The housing defines a body portion and an outlet portion terminating in an outlet opening. The outlet portion decreases in diameter from the body portion toward the outlet opening. A sampling tube is positioned within the outlet portion and extends between opposing sides of an inner wall of the outlet portion, with the sampling tube having a plurality of openings facing the body portion. A NOx sensor is positioned in fluid communication with an interior of the sampling tube.

Abstract:
An aftertreatment module may include a housing with an inlet port and an outlet port. A selective catalytic reduction catalyst may be disposed between the inlet port and the outlet port. A diffuser plate may be disposed downstream of the inlet port and upstream of the selective catalytic reduction catalysts. The diffuser plate may include a first section including a first degree of porosity and a second section including a second degree of porosity. The first degree of porosity may be greater than the second degree of porosity.

Abstract:
A mixing system for an aftertreatment system is disclosed. The mixing system includes a mixing tube. The mixing tube is provided in fluid communication with an exhaust conduit. The mixing system also includes a reductant injector positioned at an injection location on the mixing tube. The mixing system further includes a mixer assembly positioned downstream of the injection location. The mixer assembly includes a plurality of mixing elements provided in a series arrangement, such that each of the plurality of mixing elements is provided downstream of one another.

Abstract:
A boss configured to mount a nitrous oxide sensor in an exhaust conduit is disclosed. The boss includes a first tier configured to contact with an exterior surface of the exhaust conduit, the first tier defined by a first diameter and a first height. The boss also includes a second tier extending from the first tier. The second tier is configured to be disposed within an interior space defined within the exhaust conduit. The second tier is defined by a second diameter and a second height. Further, the second diameter is sized smaller than the first diameter. The boss further includes a condensation protection feature configured to direct condensation away from the nitrous oxide sensor.
