Floating-Tap Decision Feedback Equalizer For Communication Channels With Severe Reflection

US Patent:
8442106, May 14, 2013
Filed:
Jul 13, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/834913
Inventors:
Wing Faat Liu - Milpitas CA, US
Freeman Y. Zhong - San Ramon CA, US
Lizhi Zhong - Sunnyvale CA, US
Eric Zhang - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
LSI Corporation - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04L 27/01
US Classification:
375233, 375234
Abstract:
An apparatus including a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit may be configured to determine values for a predefined metric for a plurality of tap positions within a range covered by a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). The values for a number of taps may be determined in parallel. The second circuit may be configured to set one or more floating taps of the DFE to tap positions based upon the values of the predefined metric. The floating taps in the decision feedback equalizer may be selected adaptively.

Method And System For Processing Remote Active Speech During A Call

US Patent:
2022036, Nov 17, 2022
Filed:
May 6, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/738943
Inventors:
- Cupertino CA, US
Eric H. Zhang - San Jose CA, US
Taylor G. Carrigan - San Francisco CA, US
Darin B. Adler - Los Gatos CA, US
David L. Biderman - Los Gatos CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/18
G10L 21/0216
Abstract:
A method performed by a first device, which includes performing an audio call with a second device by transmitting a microphone signal as an uplink signal and receiving a downlink signal for driving a first speaker and while performing the audio call, performing a joint media playback session in which both devices independently stream a piece of media content for synchronous playback such that both devices receive an audio signal of the piece of media content for driving respective speakers at the same time, determining that a voice activity detection (VAD) signal indicates that the downlink signal includes speech, in response to determining that the VAD signal indicates that the downlink signal includes speech, processing the audio signal of the piece of media content by applying a scalar gain, and driving the first speaker with a mix of the downlink signal and the audio signal.

Liquidity Engine

US Patent:
2023002, Jan 26, 2023
Filed:
Jul 21, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/382089
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Jeremiah Clemenson - San Francisco CA, US
Katherine Yu - San Francisco CA, US
Albert Koy - San Francisco CA, US
Andrew Straussman - Plymouth MN, US
Eric Zhang - San Francisco CA, US
Jordan McQueen - Seattle WA, US
Yiran Gao - Palo Alto CA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/02
G06Q 40/04
G06N 20/00
G06N 5/04
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing liquidity when processing transactions are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method is implemented by a computing device and comprises: receiving data for a plurality of transactions; continuously reading in and aggregating, with an aggregator implemented at least partially in hardware of the computing device, transactions to produce one or more netted currency positions based on a plurality of properties of the transactions and on a plurality of netting constraints; generating one or more tasks, using a trade generator implemented at least partially in hardware of the computing device, to route cash movements as one or more batched fund transfers based on one or more trading policies; and sending the one or more tasks via network communications to one or more entities to execute the batched fund transfers.

Extended Variable Gain Amplification Bandwidth With High-Frequency Boost

US Patent:
2014022, Aug 14, 2014
Filed:
Feb 28, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/780123
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Freeman Y. Zhong - San Ramon CA, US
Hiroshi Kimura - San Jose CA, US
Eric W. Zhang - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
LSI CORPORATION - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H03F 3/45
US Classification:
330254
Abstract:
An apparatus having a circuit is disclosed. The circuit may be configured to (i) receive an input signal from a communication channel and (ii) generate an intermediate signal by amplifying the input signal (a) by a low-frequency gain in response to an amplitude control signal and (b) by a high-frequency gain in response to a boost control signal.
