Three-Dimensional Touch Pad Input Device

US Patent:
2008002, Jan 31, 2008
Filed:
Jul 31, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/461130
Inventors:
Paul Everest - Apex NC, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/041
US Classification:
345173
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, method and computer application for electronic equipment having a user input device that outputs information indicative of a location and an applied pressure of an object touching the user input device. Based on a change in the location and/or applied pressure of the object touching the user input device , information is processed move a cursor or other object displayed on a screen. Exemplary movements include zooming in on a portion of the display or zooming out on a portion of the display based upon detected asserted pressure on the user input device. In another embodiment, an object displayed on the display may be manipulated in a predetermined manner based on the signal received from the touchpad, which allows the display to be utilized in three-dimensional manner.

Jog Dial For Mobile Terminal

US Patent:
2008007, Apr 3, 2008
Filed:
Sep 29, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/537264
Inventors:
Paul Everest - Cary NC, US
John Kevin Schoolcraft - Sanford NC, US
International Classification:
G09G 5/00
US Classification:
345184
Abstract:
A mobile terminal is provided for use in a wireless communication system. The mobile terminal comprising a housing having an opening and a selective input device. The selective input device includes a hub secured in the opening in the housing such that at least a portion of the periphery of the hub extends from the housing. A capacitance layer is integral with the periphery of the hub. A resilient ring is movably disposed on the periphery of the hub and operatively connected with the capacitance layer for generating signals when the ring is moved relative to the hub. A controller is operably connected to the input device for receiving and processing the signals.

Battery Retention System

US Patent:
2012028, Nov 8, 2012
Filed:
Feb 14, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/396262
Inventors:
Patrick Clement Strittmatter - Frisco TX, US
Paul Daniel Everest - Flower Mound TX, US
Devin Bertrum Pauley - San Jose CA, US
Thomas Kevin Swindle - Watauga TX, US
Duc Hongle Ngo - Carrollton TX, US
International Classification:
H05K 5/00
E05B 15/02
E06B 3/34
US Classification:
361724, 49465, 29234115
Abstract:
A battery protection mechanism is provided within an electronic device. A door has a latch which fits into a latch retention-release mechanism in the base of the device. A spring under tension within a retention-release mechanism presses against the latch when the device is in a closed configuration. A foot attached to a button in the base of the device urges the door out of position upon depression or activation of the button.

Remote Electronic Tilt Base Station Antennas And Mechanical Calibration For Such Antennas

US Patent:
2022023, Jul 21, 2022
Filed:
Sep 3, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/632190
Inventors:
- Hickory NC, US
Paul D. EVEREST - Flower Mound TX, US
International Classification:
H01Q 3/32
H01Q 1/24
F16H 19/04
Abstract:
The RET adjuster includes a drive assembly with a rotatable drive member operatively connected to a phase shifter assembly such that rotation of the drive member adjusts the phase shifter assembly. A first connector is coupled to the drive member where the first connector occupies a rest positon when the drive member is at rest. A drive system has a second connector occupying a rest positon when the drive system is at rest where the second connector is releasably engageable with the first connector such that actuation of the drive system rotates the drive member. A mechanical calibration system locates the second connector at the second rest position.

Coding Apparatuses And Methods For A Jumper Cable For A Cellular Communications System

US Patent:
2023004, Feb 16, 2023
Filed:
Jan 12, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/794373
Inventors:
- Hickory NC, US
Paul EVEREST - Flower Mound TX, US
Joy HUANG - Plano TX, US
Khanh Duy TRAN - Rowlett TX, US
Steven ROGERS - Garland TX, US
Michel DEMBINSKI - Dallas TX, US
Samantha L. MERTA - Richardson TX, US
International Classification:
G09F 3/18
G09F 3/02
Abstract:
A coding apparatus is mounted on a jumper cable. The coding apparatus includes a plurality of coding symbols. A selection mechanism is part of the coding apparatus and is operable to reveal a selected plurality of coding symbols of the plurality of coding symbols. The selected plurality of coding symbols, in combination, provide a code identifying a connection location for the jumper cable.

Actuators For Controlling Multiple Phase Shifters Of Remote Electronic Downtilt Base Station Antennas

US Patent:
2020016, May 21, 2020
Filed:
Jan 17, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/746387
Inventors:
- Hickory NC, US
Amit Kaistha - Coppell TX, US
Chih Lin Lin Chou - Allen TX, US
Paul Everest - Flower Mound TX, US
Richard English - Richardson TX, US
International Classification:
H01Q 3/32
H01P 1/18
F16H 25/20
H01Q 3/00
H01Q 3/06
Abstract:
Multi-RET actuators include a plurality of shafts that have respective axially-drivable members mounted thereon. Each of axially-drivable member is mechanically linked to a respective one of a plurality of phase shifters. The multi-RET actuator further includes a motor having a drive shaft and a gear system that is configured to selectively couple the motor to the respective shafts. The gear system is configured so that rotation of the drive shaft in a first direction creates a mechanical linkage between the motor and a first of the shafts and rotation of the drive shaft in a second direction that is opposite the first direction rotates the first of the shafts.
