G06F 17/27
US Classification:
704 9
Abstract:
A method for generating non-standard tokens that correspond to standard tokens used in speech synthesis systems has been developed. The method includes selecting a standard token from a plurality of standard tokens stored in memory, using a random field model to select a predetermined operation to perform on each character in the selected token, performing the selected operation on each character to generate an output token, and storing the output token in the memory in association with the selected token. The output token is different from each token in the plurality of standard tokens.

Method For Rapid Detection Of Dry Eye Syndrome

US Patent:
2022039, Dec 8, 2022
Filed:
Jun 4, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/338950
Inventors:
- Wenzhou, CN
FEI LIU - Cupertino CA, US
International Classification:
G01N 33/68
H01J 49/16
H01J 49/00
Abstract:
A method for rapid detection of dry eye syndrome includes collecting a first tear fluid from healthy participant and a second tear fluid from patient with eye dryness; isolating EV samples from the first tear fluid; acquiring a first fingerprint diagram of proteomes of the EV samples from the first tear fluid, the first fingerprint diagram comprises a plurality of first discriminant peaks; isolating EV samples from the second tear fluid; acquiring a second fingerprint diagram of proteomes of the EV samples from the second tear fluid, the second fingerprint diagram comprises a plurality of second discriminant peaks; and comparing the first discriminant peaks and the second discriminant peaks to determine whether the patient has the DES. This is a fast and precise method for detecting the DES of the participant.

System And Method For Managing Resources Of A Storage Device And Quantifying The Cost Of I/O Requests

US Patent:
2021036, Nov 25, 2021
Filed:
Jun 25, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/964134
Inventors:
- George Town, Grand Cayman, KY
Yu Du - Hangzhou, CN
Fei Liu - Sunnyvale CA, US
Shu Li - Bothell WA, US
Assignee:
Alibaba Group Holding Limited - George Town, Grand Cayman
International Classification:
G06F 13/16
Abstract:
One embodiment facilitates measurement of a performance of a storage device. During operation, the system determines a normalized cost for an I/O request, wherein the normalized cost is independent of an access pattern and a type of the I/O request, wherein the normalized cost is indicated by a first number of virtual I/O operations consumed by the I/O request, and wherein a virtual I/O operation is used as a logical unit of cost associated with physical I/O operations. The system identifies a performance metric for the storage device by calculating a second number of virtual I/O operations per second which can be executed by the storage device. The system allocates incoming I/O requests to the storage device based on the performance metric, e.g., to satisfy a Quality of Service requirement, thereby causing an enhanced measurement of the performance of the storage device.

Haptic Simulation Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2021034, Nov 4, 2021
Filed:
Jul 12, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/373380

International Classification:
G06F 3/01
G06F 3/03
G10L 21/16
G10L 21/10
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to technology for haptic stimulation. According to one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a haptic stimulation system comprising a haptic stimulation interface comprising a pattern of stimulation elements configured to stimulate receptors in skin of a user. The haptic stimulation system further comprises a control circuit configured to present information in the haptic stimulation interface in accordance with a presentation mode that is tailored to the user.

Isolation Chip For Isolating Target Particles From Liquid Sample, And Device And Method For Detecting The Target Particles

US Patent:
2021028, Sep 16, 2021
Filed:
Mar 9, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/195922
Inventors:
- Rodeo CA, US
FEI LIU - Cupertino CA, US
International Classification:
B01D 61/58
B01D 15/38
Abstract:
An isolation chip for separating and isolating target particles from a bioliquid sample includes a reagent reservoir, a first filtration membrane, a second filtration membrane, a first chamber, and a second chamber. The reagent reservoir includes a first sidewall and a second sidewall opposite to the first sidewall. The first filtration membrane is disposed at an upper portion of the first sidewall. The reagent reservoir defines a first window at a lower portion of the first sidewall. The second filtration membrane is disposed at the second sidewall. The first chamber is connected to the reagent reservoir through the first filtration membrane. The second chamber is connected to the reagent reservoir through the second filtration membrane. A device and a method for detecting the target particles are further provided.

Appl. No.:
17/004323
Inventors:
- Menlo Park CA, US
Joseph Duggan - San Francisco CA, US
Cina Hazegh - Walnut Creek CA, US
Fei Liu - San Jose CA, US
Mark Timothy Sullivan - Mountain View CA, US
Simon Morris Shand Weiss - Redwood City CA, US
International Classification:
H04N 5/238
H04N 5/225
G06T 7/521
H04N 5/235
G02B 5/28
G02B 27/42
Abstract:
An imaging device for imaging of a local area surrounding the imaging device. The imaging device includes a lens assembly, a filtering element and a detector. The lens assembly is configured to receive light from a local area surrounding the imaging device and to direct at least a portion of the received light to the detector. The filtering element is placed in the imaging device within the lens assembly such that light is incident at a surface of the filtering element within a range of angles determined by a design range of angles at which the filtering element is designed to filter light. The detector is configured to capture image(s) of the local area including the filtered light. The imaging device can be integrated into a depth camera assembly for determining depth information of object(s) in the local area based on the captured image(s).

Resource Allocation Based On Comprehensive I/O Monitoring In A Distributed Storage System

US Patent:
2020033, Oct 22, 2020
Filed:
Apr 16, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/385955
Inventors:
- George Town, KY
Fei Liu - Sunnyvale CA, US
Shu Li - Bothell WA, US
Assignee:
Alibaba Group Holding Limited - George Town
International Classification:
G06F 9/50
G06F 11/30
G06F 3/06
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein provide a storage management system. During operation, the system receives information indicating sets of pending load of a plurality of storage devices from one or more storage nodes of a distributed storage system. The set of pending load of a respective storage device includes a set of load from host operations and a set of load from background operations on the storage device. The system can receive a request for a target resource associated with a disk operation from a client node of the distributed storage system. The system then selects, from the plurality of storage devices, a storage device with the smallest set of pending load based on the sets of pending load as the target resource and sends the target resource to the client node.
