Abstract:
A method for installing risers so they extend from a FPU (floating production unit) to multiple subsea hydrocarbon wells of an oil field, which avoids damage to the pipe sections and that is economical. As pipe sections are connected to a near end () of a pipe string portion (B-D) that lies at the FPU, a tug boat () pulls the far end () of the pipe string toward a well head. Initially, a long pull line () extends from a winch () on the tug boat, in a double catenary curve to the far end of the pipe string. The winch is operated to shorten the pull line until the pipe string extends in a double catenary curve (). Tension in the pipe string is maintained at a proper level during installation by maintaining the near end portion of the pipe string so it extends at a near end angle () to the vertical that continually lies within a predetermined range, such as from 3 to 12.

Passive wands, tracked by one or more cameras, are used as user interface devices. The wands are inexpensive, and are a natural way for users to interact with devices such as large displays. Each wand may be used to specify a full 6 degrees of freedom, which can be helpful for manipulation of 3D applications. The wands may also be used to identify 3D world points, which is useful for multi-camera calibration, and for building 3D models of physical spaces. The described methods provide a more precise estimation of wand pose, and can be implemented with a single camera. Also described is a method for estimation wand pose using information available along a one dimensional ‘line scan’ within the image, which simplifies processing.

Abstract:
Described herein is a technique for mapping the raw text of a job title of an online job posting to an entity embedding, associated with an entity or entry of a title taxonomy. The raw text of the job title is first encoded to generate a multilingual word embedding in a multilingual word embedding space. Then, the vector representation of the job title, as represented in the multilingual word embedding space is translated, using a neural network, to a vector representation of the job title in the entity embedding space. Finally, a nearest neighbor search is performed to identify an entity embedding associated with an entity or entry in the title taxonomy that has a vector representation that is closest in distance to the vector output by the neural network.
