Temperature Offset Control System

US Patent:
4682648, Jul 28, 1987
Filed:
Dec 29, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/454428
Inventors:
Morton Fried - Far Rockaway NY
International Classification:
G05D 2300
F24F 1100
US Classification:
165 12
Abstract:
A temperature offset control system having a central control station wherein temperature limits can be set for the desired amount of offset for both heating and air conditioning systems. A centrally located temperature sensor reads the ambient temperature within the house. A comparator compares this sensed temperature with the offset temperatures and produces a control signal responsive to the comparison. The control signal is then transmitted through the existing house wiring to receivers associated with each heating and/or air conditioning unit, whereby the heating unit will receive the control signal and will respond when that control signal resulted from a sensed temperature crossing the lower end of the temperature limits set at the central control station to thereby turn on and off. The air conditioning unit will receive the same control signal and it will turn on and off in response to receiving a control signal resulting from a temperature crossing at the upper end of the temperature range set at the central control system.

Power Saving System Which Assures Room Security

US Patent:
4391406, Jul 5, 1983
Filed:
Jan 7, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/337701
Inventors:
Morton Fried - Far Rockaway NY
International Classification:
E05B 6500
G05D 2300
US Classification:
236 47
Abstract:
A power saving unit which also assures room security by requiring a door to be properly locked before particular electric loads will be energized. The system includes switches connected to the door providing indication of whether the door is open, closed, or locked. A control circuit controls the energization of a particular electric load connected to the system. A suitable gate responds to the door being locked or opened to activate the control circuit for maintaining the load energized. It responds to the door being closed but unlocked to keep the load energized for a predetermined interval of time after which the load will be switched off. Suitable indicator lights are provided to remind the guest to lock his door in order to retain the loads energized.

Bulk Cement Storage System

US Patent:
3989147, Nov 2, 1976
Filed:
Jan 30, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/545297
Inventors:
Morton Fried - Far Rockaway NY
International Classification:
B65G 6758
B65G 5340
US Classification:
214 14
Abstract:
A bulk cement storage system which includes storage units for storing the cement, as well as devices for transporting the cement to the storage units and removing the cement from the storage units. The storage units include a circular base member with a hole in its center which slopes inward at a shallow angle toward the hole. A number of porous sections are formed in the base member to permit a stream of compressed air to pass through the porous sections into the stored cement. A generally circular shaped dome covers the base member to provide environmental protection for the storage area. The cement is stored as a free standing pile on the base member within the storage area. The compressed air causes the cement to develop flow characteristics similar to a liquid, so that the cement can be removed from the storage bin utilizing a pneumatic conveying system.

Powersaving Room Security System

US Patent:
4367455, Jan 4, 1983
Filed:
Feb 12, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/233830
Inventors:
Morton Fried - Far Rockaway NY
International Classification:
H04B 354
US Classification:
340310A
Abstract:
A powersaving room security system including a switch connected to a door locking system which generates a lock signal congruous to proper locking of the door. A central control unit produces control signals which can be transmitted through the room AC lines. The control signal corresponds to the existence of the lock signal. Module units are respectively connected to each of the various electrical wall switches and receptacles in the room and respond to the control signals for correspondingly controlling the respective receptacles and wall switches. In this way, lights and appliances in the room can only be permanently energized from the room AC lines when the door of the room is properly locked. At the same time, the system provides an energy saving system by turning off all appliances and lights which the guests may have left on without leaving the room.
