Filed:
Sep 25, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/525847
Inventors:
Gary G. Markert - Hawthorn Woods IL, US
Ronald R. Schoenberg - Centennial CO, US
Robert A. Ross - Denver CO, US
Paul H. Beauregard - Bennett CO, US
Robert F. Flynn - Littleton CO, US

Abstract:
A pallet sheet has a substantially planar, centrally located base region, and a pair of upwardly angled edge portions. The upper surface portion of the pallet sheet is provided with a plurality of upwardly oriented collapsible cleats for enhancing cushioning and frictional characteristics, and in addition, upwardly and downwardly oriented cleats are also disposed upon the upper and lower surface portions of the upwardly angled edge portions so as to provide enhanced gripping characteristics for the pallet sheet by a gripper bar mechanism of a motorized transport vehicle. Still further, a support system is provided for supporting a plurality of pallet sheets thereon wherein the oppositely disposed edge portions of the pallet sheets can be maintained at their desired predetermined angle.

Spacer And Shock-Absorber Type Angleboard Edge Or Corner Protector

US Patent:
2006018, Aug 24, 2006
Filed:
Feb 18, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/060487
Inventors:
Gary Markert - Hawthorn Woods IL, US
Douglas Smith - Milford OH, US
Elton Beyer - Alexandria KY, US
International Classification:
B65D 69/00
US Classification:
206568000
Abstract:
An edge or corner protector comprises side surface portions which are adapted to be spaced from the external side surface portions of an article or appliance which define an external corner or edge region of the article or appliance to be protected, and an interior corner or apex region which is likewise adapted to be spaced from the external corner or edge region of the article or appliance. In this manner, not only does the corner or edge protector serve to protect the external corner or edge region of the article or appliance, but in addition, the spacing of the side surface portions of the new and improved edge or corner protector from the external side surface portions of the article or appliance, as well as the spacing of the interior corner or apex region of the corner or edge protector from the external corner or edge region of the article or appliance will effectively serve as a shock absorber so as to prevent external impact forces, impressed upon the carton or shipping container, from being transmitted internally onto the external side surface portions of the article or appliance, or onto the corner or edge region of the article or appliance.

The legs are spaced from one another a predetermined distance and the side walls are spaced from one another a predetermined distance. The upstanding side walls and base wall define a generally U-shaped profile and the legs and base wall define a generally inverted U-shaped profile that defines a strap receiving region configured for receiving an associated strap material disposed around the load and the batten.
