Dynamic Bus Dispatching And Labor Assignment System

US Patent:
2010029, Nov 25, 2010
Filed:
May 22, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/470750
Inventors:
Peter S. Buczkowski - Windermere FL, US
Douglas C. Lord - Winter Garden FL, US
Kurt G. Kaufmann - Orlando FL, US
Jose A. Mola - Orlando FL, US
Gary N. Simmons - Mount Dora FL, US
Kathleen A. Kilmer - Winter Garden FL, US
Assignee:
DISNEY ENTERPRISES, INC. - Burbank CA
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00
US Classification:
705 9, 705 7
Abstract:
A method of dynamic bus dispatching and labor assignments based on real time vehicle and passenger data. The method includes running a transportation services module on a computer of a dispatch command center. The method includes receiving, at the computer system, current location information for a plurality of buses. The transportation services module determines a route completion time period for the vehicles and then generates a dispatch schedule for each of the vehicles based on the determined route completions. The dispatch schedules are transmitted to the buses and displayed on a monitor to the bus driver, thereby allowing real time or dynamic updating of dispatching based on collected location information. The method also includes determining and reporting a set of labor assignments for drivers of the buses based on the current location information, the route completion time periods, and break and shift information associated with each of the drivers.

Method For Processing Gold-Bearing Sulfide Ores Involving Preparation Of A Sulfide Concentrate

US Patent:
5837210, Nov 17, 1998
Filed:
Oct 23, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/735783
Inventors:
Gary L. Simmons - Albuquerque NM
John C. Gathje - Longmont CO
Assignee:
Newmont Gold Company - Denver CO
International Classification:
B03D 100
C01G 700
C22B 1100
US Classification:
423 26
Abstract:
Provided is a method for processing a gold-bearing sulfide ore which involves maintaining the ore in a substantially oxygen free environment, preferably beginning with comminution of the ore and ending when a desired final concentrate, enriched in sulfide minerals, is obtained by flotation. In one embodiment, nitrogen gas is used to substantially prevent contact between the ore and air during comminution of the ore and during flotation operations. It is believed that oxygen gas present in air detrimentally affects the recovery of sulfide minerals in a flotation concentrate through surface oxidation of sulfide mineral particles. The use of a gas such as nitrogen can significantly reduce the potential for such surface oxidation. Additionally, gases separated from an oxygen plant may be beneficially used, with an oxygen gas stream being used, for example, for pressure oxidation of sulfide mineral materials, and with a nitrogen gas stream being used in comminution and/or flotation operations, resulting in advantageous use of a nitrogen gas by-product stream which has previously been vented to the atmosphere as waste.

Method For Pressure Oxidizing Gold-Bearing Refractory Sulfide Ores Having Organic Carbon

US Patent:
5851499, Dec 22, 1998
Filed:
Sep 11, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/712252
Inventors:
John C. Gathje - Longmont CO
Gary L. Simmons - Albuquerque NM
Assignee:
Newmont Gold Company - Denver CO
International Classification:
C01G 700
C22B 1108
US Classification:
423 23
Abstract:
Provided is a method for treating refractory gold-bearing ores that have both sulfide material with which the gold is associated and from which the gold is difficult to separate and having organic carbonaceous material having an affinity for at least one of gold and a gold complex. The mineral material is pressure oxidized in the presence of a halogen-containing material in a manner to reduce the susceptibility of the organic carbonaceous material to capture and hold gold during the pressure oxidation. Also provided is a gold-bearing effluent product from the pressure oxidation process. The effluent product comprises gold which can be effectively recovered by carbon-in-leach cyanidation of the effluent product. In many cases, gold recovery according to the present invention is increased substantially over standard pressure oxidation techniques.

Method For Processing Gold-Bearing Sulfide Ores Involving Preparation Of A Sulfide Concentrate

US Patent:
5653945, Aug 5, 1997
Filed:
Apr 18, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/423839
Inventors:
John C. Gathje - Longmont CO
Gary L. Simmons - Albuquerque NM
Assignee:
Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corporation - Albuquerque NM
International Classification:

Method For Treating Mineral Material Having Organic Carbon To Facilitate Recovery Of Gold And Silver

US Patent:
5536480, Jul 16, 1996
Filed:
Nov 29, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/346404
Inventors:
Gary L. Simmons - Albuquerque NM
Assignee:
Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corporation - Albuquerque NM
International Classification:
C22B 1100
US Classification:
423 28
Abstract:
Provided is a process for treating refractory precious metal-containing ores, particularly gold-bearing ores, which are refractory due to the presence of organic carbon, to reduce the ability of organic carbon to interfere with recovery of the precious metal. The ore may also contain sulfide materials with which the gold is associated and from which the gold is difficult to separate. The ore is comminuted to a size at which at least about 80 weight percent of the ore is smaller than about 40 microns in size. The comminuted ore is then slurried and subjected to pressure oxidation at severe operating conditions. The treating temperature is greater than about 190. degree. C. When sulfide minerals are present, substantially all of the sulfide sulfur must first be oxidized prior to obtaining significant benefit from the treatment of the organic carbon. Greater than about 96% of the sulfide sulfur must be oxidized.

Process For Preferentially Oxidizing Sulfides In Gold-Bearing Refractory Ores

US Patent:
5458866, Oct 17, 1995
Filed:
Feb 14, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/196020
Inventors:
Gary L. Simmons - Albuquerque NM
Assignee:
Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corporation - Albuquerque NM
International Classification:
C22B 1100
C01G 700
US Classification:
423 30
Abstract:
A process is provided for recovering gold from refractory sulfide ores. Preferred feed materials have multiple different sulfide mineralogies, with gold being primarily contained within one or more, but not all, of the sulfide mineralogies. Sulfide mineralogies with the highest gold values are preferentially oxidized, while those sulfide mineralogies with relatively little gold remain largely unoxidized. In one embodiment, dissolved arsenic following pressure oxidation is precipitated as ferric arsenate through the control of pH during neutralization. In another embodiment, the oxidized slurry following pressure oxidation is contacted with an oxidizing agent to convert at least a portion of ferrous iron to ferric iron. Following, pressure oxidation, the slurry can be subjected to cyanidation recovery of gold, and liquid from the tailings stream can be recycled upstream of the pressure oxidation step in a substantially untreated form. The process is useful for recovering gold contained as ultra-small masses in sulfide minerals.
