Toner Cartridge Breather Cap

US Patent:
5740506, Apr 14, 1998
Filed:
Jan 11, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/584421
Inventors:
John D. Sundquist - Clarksville VA
Paul M. Wegman - Pittsford NY
Rhonda L. Staudt - Webster NY
Timothy G. Struczewski - Rochester NY
Gene S. Serafine - Henrietta NY
Assignee:
Xerox Corporation - Stamford CT
International Classification:
G03G 1508
US Classification:
399262
Abstract:
A device is provided for storing a supply of particles for use in a developer unit of an electrophotographic printing machine. The device includes an open ended container defining a chamber in communication with the open end of the container with the particles being stored in the chamber of the container. The container defines an aperture in the container spaced from the open end and an air permeable cover closely conforming to the aperture for containing the particles within the container.

Imaging Material Detection In A Magnetic Window Cleaning Dispensing Container

US Patent:
5805952, Sep 8, 1998
Filed:
Feb 6, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/795748
Inventors:
Douglas W. Buch - Webster NY
Gene S. Serafine - Henrietta NY
Rhonda L. Staudt - Webster NY
Timothy G. Struczewski - Rochester NY
Jack E. Van Duser - Webster NY
Assignee:
Xerox Corporation - Stamford CT
International Classification:
G03G 1508
US Classification:
399 27
Abstract:
A reproduction apparatus imaging material dispensing system has a replaceable and rotatable imaging material dispensing container from which an at least partially magnetically aitractable consumable imaging material is dispensed. There is an optical imaging material level sensing system mounted outside of the container for optically detecting the imaging material inside the container through translucent walls thereof and signaling an insufficient remaining quantity of imaging material. A magnetic brush cleaning system internally cleans imaging material from the inside of a annular translucent wall area of the container to provide and maintain relatively unobstructed such optical sensing. It can be provided by a stationary magnet mounted outside of but adjacent to the container to attract magnetically attractable imaging material to the inside of the container wall to form a magnetic cleaning brush to clean the translucent wall annular area. This allows a light receiving sensor on one side of the container to detecting light from a light emitter on the other side of the container through the magnetically cleaned translucent annular band.

Auger Configuration For Eliminating Auger Mark Print Defect

US Patent:
5758238, May 26, 1998
Filed:
Nov 25, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/753455
Inventors:
Samuel P. Mordenga - Rochester NY
Lam F. Wong - Fairport NY
Gerald T. Lioy - Rochester NY
Rhonda L. Staudt - Webster NY
Timothy G. Struczewski - Rochester NY
Gene S. Serafine - Henrietta NY
Justine M. Woods - Webster NY
Ronald A. Fraser - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Xerox Corporation - Stamford CT
International Classification:
G03G 1508
US Classification:
399256
Abstract:
A development system for a reproduction machine includes a pair of augers which mix and transfer the developer mixture to a magnetic roll brush system. A supply auger having a length at least as great as said magnetic brush roll is positioned along a horizontal plane and adapted to transport developer material in a direction so as to supply said material to said magnetic brush roll. The auger has a first portion thereof having an irregular blade edge and wedge shaped paddles to eliminate auger mark print defects.
